Re: Perseids 2019
Yup
I happened to wake at 0156 BST and the band was dead, same at 5 which is when I’d usually see some random meteor activity, still oddly dead as I write this
I reckon it peaked a bit earlier
87.5-87.9 looked good around midnight but signals weren’t strong enough to push through into the occupied bit of the band above 88
I now have 6 days (almost continuous, except for power cuts etc) worth of the shower recorded for analysis
Hey future historians... you’re welcome

Re: Perseids 2019
Lots of pings and short bursts between midnight and 2:30 am local (UTC+1)- with the aerial pointing towards the Adriatic. The main characteristic of the meteor signals is that the signal strength is very choppy and more than one tx is present on the frequencies. The result being that when it looks strong enough to give RDS data the signal isn't clean enough. I've stopped analysing recordings to follow/record the Es opening.

Re: Perseids 2019
Just got a short MS but I have no idea from where. Classic music on 88.7 and 88.8. Some speech on 92.3 but the ping was so short I can't identify it.

Was it the same classical music on 88.7 and 88.8?

My antenna is omnidirectional.
Yes it should've been the same. It sounded very similar at least.

Re: Perseids 2019
Correction: It was NOT the same classical music. I listened to it once again and it definetely isn't the same.Tim Bucknall wrote: ↑15 Aug 2019 11:17Which way were you beaming?
Was it the same classical music on 88.7 and 88.8?
And I discovered that there was weak classical music on 88.5 and 91.9 as well. Also different music from the ones on 88.7 and 88.8

Re: Perseids 2019
Aah brilliant!
Vivacitie was going to be my suggestion for 92,3 if 88.7 was lille
Well done
I recorded 87.5-88.0 (my only clear channels) from august 6 -13th. I’ve started playing them back and have reached 1808ut on 7th aug.
I haven’t worked out how to copy and paste on this phone so you’ll have to check fmlist logbook
Subasio 87.5 has come in so many times i’ve now stopped logging it
I’m deleting all the dead periods and condensing
All the activity into a “greatest hits” compilation : D
A couple of oddities worth mentioning, 87.9 blank carrier very regular on meteor scatter, comes in with spain and with italy.
87.75 mono blank carrier, came in with Italy 1645-1646utc

Re: Perseids 2019
I’m very glad I decided to beam WNW for some of the meteor shower
I’ve sent an IQ file to some people and am waiting for their verdict
And no I can’t post an audio clip , its the iq file or nothing
