ES 03/05/2019. Is the beginning of the Sporadic-e?

Post by tomas112 » 03 May 2019 20:04

Hi all
Today, great activity in south-central Europe. Lots of dxers enjoying an early sporadic. Well-known active dxers (Logan, Fallon, Molano, Karjalainen, etc). Uffff, a very high level today
Good luck to everyone this new season!! :)

Yep, quite a good opening for this time of the season down here in Italy... lots of stations I hadn't heard for a while, usual relays (M80 104.3 Lisboa/Monsanto, I'm looking at you) and lower-powered txs alike (esp. from Galicia, logs are on @ fmlist). I can only say that sounds quite promising!

IMO, yes it should have started for good. Now waiting for eastern Europe...
Probably scanning the band atm. And definitely moaning about the conditions.

It was probably Aflou, Algeria. Other DXers had that.

Look out for RDS on Radio Laghouat on 87.6. It's been added since last year.
Good DX.

I was out fighting to get home from work (nearly 2 hours yesterday) and then picking up the little lady from nursery, so missed it. 6 was open nicely to the south looking at the FT8 stats.

Good to see the Es season underway nice and early this year. Hopefully it will be a good season for all.

I am kinda out of it at the moment. Free time is at a premium again, so I am holding off until the season really kicks in. I doubt I will be participating much, but I will be keeping my eyes open for those rare double hop scenarios, should they occur.

Good DX all!

First Es for this season happened on 24 & 25 April here in Belgium ... and that was it, so far. Really hope it will take off this week, since I am still a week off work :-)

not a single trace so far over here in GER. strange. it looks like ES outside, it feels like ES, it tastes like ES...i can breathe it, there`s something in the air. the last few years were up to an early start, sometimes around the 12th. now it is 17th already and I keep on running across the OIRT channels without any signal...not even the slightest ping

I predict 7 days of OIRT FM from the 3rd - 10th June....good strong stable signals from Ukraine 🇺🇦 Probably because I'm staying there 😁
