1390 - Latin

Post by simbeav » 15 Apr 2019 12:10

No ID here - Just a time check at 05:24 in (I think) a GMT -5 zone.

It came up really strong with music from about 0520 and this is the only announcement that I got. Gone by 0528.

Offset 1389.9946. Anybody get an ID ?

I searched the QRG up in FMscan.org and I think most likely this is YVZA Radio Fe y Alegria from Caracas, Venezuela. It's ERP is 20kW. But I'm not sure. There are many others from countries like Brazil, Honduras and Mexico in the same ERP and distance range.

73s from Austria.

If it was Venezuela, the language would be Spanish.

The language is Portuguese, however, indicating it's a Brazilian station. The time check sounds like "two hours and 24 minutes", so it should be UTC-3.

Thanks both. I thought it sounded Portuguese, but have been fooled by some South American Spanish accents before.

A pity to have such a strong announcement, but no ID.

Sounds like the latter part of a jingle is heard in the very beginning, so perhaps there is a little chance to identify the station by that.
