SDR Spy Server test Hungary

Post by AMDXHUN » 23 Nov 2018 22:45

I setting up an experimental Spy SDR Server with my RTL-SDR dongle on the following address during this weekend:
sdr://sarloserver.dlinkddns.com:5555

Download the latest SDR# Software and choose Spy Server Network and enter the address above.
Due the strong local stations you need to set the Gain to 3 but on the bottom of FM band you can increase it to 12!
Note, this is a very very experimental stuff.

Antenna: Vertical dipole on the roof, 35m high with low noise AMP.
QTH: Székesfehérvár, Hungary
Range: 30 - 108 MHz

It's working well AMDXHUN - I just wish the band was as clear here in London as it is there in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.

I had a quick tune around on Band II - quite a few stations but I only got RDS on:

Alpha Radio-88.9
Music FM-89.5
Maria Radio-90.0
Radio 1-90.6
Kossuth-92.3
Strong sig on-93.9 (no RDS)
Radio 1-94.5
Katradio-96.1
Taska Radio-97.5
Vorosmarty Radio-99.2
Retro-100.5
Karc FM-106.6

Thanks for putting that up online, are they all legitimate stations or were some of them pirates as some stations appeared to be a bit off frequency.
AirSpy HF+ SDR + Full-wave Loop for FM + Home-brew Mini Whip for LW/MW/HF or 9:1 Balun + Whip Aerial
Yamaha T-D500 Tuner For DAB - Alinco DX-R8 Comms Rx - Tecsun PL-880 & ICR-110
Yaesu FT-897D - Icom IC-2200H - Anytone AT-588 for 70Mhz

93.9 and 94.8 is Petőfi Rádió, but with low RDS level.
There is no pirate stations at this time, the "off frequency" ones are IMD in the stick.

The only pirate station is Sound 93.3 but only a few days per year.

Hello,

I tested your server last night and it works well! I took the opportunity to update some information on FMList.
Thank you for sharing your receiver. I would like to do the same but my upload speed does not permit it unfortunately. Optical fiber is coming soon here so maybe it's just a matter of months!

By the way, we're not obligated to download the latest SDR# version to use your server. I'm using the v.1.0.0.1637 and it works!
