1510 - 14/9

Post by simbeav » 14 Sep 2018 09:22

Anybody get an ID on the station on 1510 this morning ? On and off all night, but my best reception was up to 0100 with a programme about Darwinism (With what sounded like and English accent) and an ID at 0100. Unfortunately the signal faded at the point of the ID, but it sounded to me like "You are listening to WWBC".
Overnight due to hurricanes ? Or have I misheard ? Simon

Just found at 0056 an announcement and address for "Turning Point" ministries and their programme is listed as being on WWBC, but at 10:30 am.

It fades in here at 2341. OM with talk. Offset 1510.0031 (Absolute 1242 for calibration).

Nice fade for 00:00.

00:26 OM religious talk.

Commercial or promo(?) at 00:27 with OM mentioning the Lord Jesus Christ at 00:27:10. Clear-ish at this point, further references to the book of John.

Nice fade for 01:00.

YL Gospel song at 01:22. Haaaaaalelujah!

More YL Gospel singing at 01:54. Almost sound like Tina Turner at times.

Nice fade for 02:00 but OM just audible in noise.

02:01 YL Gospel song.

02:43 YL Gospel song.

More snippets here and there, but brief and very weak. Will post to RealDX.

I'm pretty sure of my ID at 0100 now and I see there are a couple of loggings turned up on MWLIST

Thanks. Sounds promising.

I posted to RealDX but my post still hasn't appeared. Yahoo really are going through a bad time at the moment.

My ID from 14/9 at 0100

https://app.box.com/s/5gcu4w192ube3l3shgiogic4x62g24xv

On 15/9 the carrier was there from 2320, with very brief audio coming up at 0035 before the carrier disappeared.
16/9 faint carrier from 2324 until it disappeared at 2344

Thanks Simon.

My post to RealDX was delayed for several hours. Then the replies trickled through over the next 12 hours, some not getting through at all. Yahoo have reached a new all-time low. Had it not been for Andrew Brade writing to me directly, I would never have seen his reply.

Andrew commented on several things in my recording, which all tied in with WWBC. So it seems virtually 100% that this was WWBC and it's been reported by several DXers in Europe lately. Plus the offset is correct.

I checked my 14-09-18 0100 recording (Which will be deleted today for reasons of needing the drive space!) and I hear only a man's voice over the hour - too weak to decipher. Choral music appears at the toh. But speech comes up a little better in the seconds which follow.

Do you have any more recording? Tell you what, why don't I just record what I have and you can compare with yours.

This recording runs from 00:59:40 until 01:02:00

Thanks.

Sorry , John . I can't find any match, but that is because my best reception came around 00:53 until just before the hour. I was just lucky that it faded back up for the ID. I have bery little then until some music at 0103.

No problem Simon. I have music, a YL singing, at 01:03. All seems convincing. I should log this as definite.

It should move off Yahoo to Groups IO - you are right there. Do you also try and ID stations for others? I honestly don't know if you do or don't but It's always good to contribute when you can.

I try to contribute where I can, but I ask more questions than I answer. I think it's good to show willing, plus a bit more. Every little helps.
