Crazy FM 88.5 Amsterdam

Post by Lucas | TransistorFR » 01 Sep 2018 15:57

Hello,

I'm currently receiving a new pirate radio station on Amsterdam called Crazy FM on 88.5MHz with this SpyServer: sdr://airspy.com:5559/
PS is "CRAZY_FM", PI code is 8164 and Radiotext is "CRAZY FM". No website and webstream found but the radio host gave this email address: crazy.fm@outlook.com

Excellent music programming in the Funk/80s style. I will post an audio recording on YouTube soon.

Still no FM pirates here in Lyon for months unfortunately.

I didn't realise this was something you could do with the Airspy. Unfortunately, it seems the SDR is heavily overloaded at the BOB, and I can't adjust the gain :/

A good legal station for 80s/90s soul I found while in Schipole airport is Jamm FM on 104.9.

It might not be overload actually, but there are a lot of stations right next to each other, and as the tuner is in auto-gain mode it's hard to get a bearing on what the relative signal levels are. In my experience with SDRs, it's not that useful to have the gain jumping up and down, as it rarely brings the weak signals up any more once you hit a certain level of gain.

I found a blank stereo carrier on 105.0 last night, and tonight it's got audio. PI=11DD, RDS reads C'cum105. The station is not listed anywhere. Is it recently licensed or a pirate I wonder?

EDIT: Castricum 105 - legal, local broadcaster for Castricum.

Sometimes you can adjust the gain, sometimes not. It depends of the server and if there are other users connected.
I didn't know Jamm FM, thank you for this discovery! ;)

In May 2018, I've been able to receive 4-PLAY FM 99.2 and Dance Radio 87.5 via this server.

Sometimes there's a blank carrier on 87.5 too but the signal is very weak and I've never been able to decode the RDS.
You can find other Spy Servers here if you're interested: https://airspy.com/spy-servers/

Do you know how to make this work all the time? I find that it works for a bit, then the next time I try to connect it won't allow me to and gives various messages about not being able to connect.

I have heard of 4-Play before as it has been streamed via http://geheimezender.com/Piraten_Streams.php on a couple of occasions. Dance Radio I've often listened to via the internet.

I managed to receive Spek FM 94.5 via ES from Sardinia back in May, is it from Amsterdam?

Indeed, this server is giving various error messages which prevents the connection sometimes. I think we can't do anything about that unfortunately, it's probably a bug or it means that the server is down.

According to the 4-PLAY website, the station will be back on the FM band in 107 days: http://4-playfm.nl/
Dance Radio is broadcasted 24/7 on the Internet. The webstream is available here: http://stream.danceradio.nl:9920/

@Theme: I have no idea but I've never been able to receive it via the server.
@BristolPirates: I listened to Jamm FM on the way to work today. The programming is excellent, I added it in my TuneIn favorites :)
