The Voice Of Peace

Post by David Taylor » 26 Apr 2018 10:56

The Voice Of Peace has been heard these past 2 Sunday's on 106.5 mgs. Whilst I love this station, I can't help but think that we may no longer be hearing Caroline on here which I also love. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Skyline FM have made a return with a stronger signal as of late on 87.7. Whether this is due to an increase in power or a new location is unclear.
Finally, MAR continues to be heard in the North West at various strengths and locations on 87.5 although I'm on the understanding that these rogue fm transmissions are not related to the station itself.
That's all from Crewe for now

Are you saying the only official MAR transmissions are on 105 MHz?

MAR use two TXs on 87.5 one is from Liverpool and the other somewhere to my SE so in the Crewe direction they also use 105 and sometimes 108 not heard the latter for a while now.

Here is a video of MAR using two TXs on 87.5 at the same time.

What I'm saying is that any transmission putting MAR out may not necessarily be connected although it properly is more likely related to MAR. So many fm operators these days put out there favourite internet stations on air.
It's just that I've noticed that MAR no longer mention any fm frequencies anymore and that's why I have deduced the possibility that not all are necessarily related to MAR but it's just a theory I have a d I could well be wrong.

The Liverpool 87.5 outlet does change location from week to week; as its signal strength in West Wirral also varies from week to week. Some weeks it's not from pool city centre as I drove through and it faded whilst it was strong on the other side.

IIRC a couple of weeks ago they mentioned 1386 which would be very silly as the legal Clatterbridge hospital station in on there.

Something I forgot to mention when they started using 87.5 from my SE they were calling it CAR (Cheshire alternative radio) not heard it mention that recently.
MAR do have a website so can check it is MAR that.s on air.
http://www.mar.me.uk/

As Stuart said they do mention 1386 occasionally.

I did hear Skyline FM on 87.7 knocking out Hope FM an RSL on 87.7 not a good idea they don't want the wrong kind of listeners

I like MAR - I like listening to the presenters and the programmes. However they do some stupid things sometimes. IIRC last time they got a big raid they were running 3 MF and 1 FM signal simultaneously. Even Ofcom will get off their arse and do something about that.

Clatterbridge is an Oncology hospital - they should not be on 1386. Last thing they want is to be accused of interfering with the radio listening of cancer patients.

if MAR stopped announcing their fm freqs they're just taking a cue from the london pirates so that if a tx is raided they can say "we're an internet station we don't know who is relaying us"

yes 1386 is a dumb channel. its not as if theres a shortage of empty channels these days
is merseyside 1485 still on?
they should definitely look to pinch that spot when merseyside closes

Bert is on MAR this morning. He's announcing 87.5 main freq and 105 lesser coverage. 87.5 strong is western scouselands - no sign of 105.

Bert is the gaffer - he should know!

I have checked my log book and The Voice Of Peace was not on that day, however they were back on air the following Sunday so keep listen to 106.5 and hopefully you will hear it next time

sorry i was confusing you with someone else
but to be fair "western europe" is the most unhelpful location ever!
logs without locations are useless
