the scandinavian countries often have english content without a voice over since all scandinavians understand english anyway

Thanks Nick and Tim.
I was beaming in my favourite meteor scatter direction - north-east and vertical.

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids
Obviously I want it to be TA but I'm trying to restrain myself.
I recorded 71.75 overnight , now recording 106.7
No point my using b/w wider than 384khz as I don't have the clear channels
Back to business, you could try to find out if someone like E or access Hollywood do a radio bulletin or podcast.

Well there are no AFN Europe frequencies listed at 107.5 so it may be TA. Interesting.

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids
It's such an unlikely thing to be re-broadcast on anything, considering the programme content is from several months ago. I can't see it being TA, but there's no AFN on 107.5 in in Europe.
Oh well. A mystery which will probably remain a mystery. Thanks anyway Tim.

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids
it was fun detective work
does the direction match the other US programming you heard from presumed oil rigs?
it could be the viking gas field https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... Fields.jpg
sadly theres no potential candidates for TA Chris unless formats have changed since fmlist was updated, and the accents are wrong for Canada

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids
The fact that it's an old clip and the flutter on it may be mobile flutter rather than an unstable MS train suggests to me iTrip. You hear all sorts of random things on them. A few weeks ago I heard what sounded like part of a phone conversation on 87.5.
Good DX.

There was a newspaper article which stated that there could be as many as 9500 wind turbines off the coast of Skegness. You should have seen the artist impression. It was a solid wall!

It has to be an i-trip.
As for hearing US programming here, you might remember some very similar reception I had shortly after moving here in 2010, Tim.

Indeed I do
The peak is rather long for a passing car, are you near traffic lights where cars have to wait John?

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids
They would need to be using some power if that was the case. A few miliwatts would need a generous meteor burst to propagate.
My guess is an i-trip playing a YouTube video. Have you ever watched the next video after playing something of your choosing? It's quite a random choice and you never know what you are going to get. That might explain the April video in my clip.

it doesn't sound like meteor and no other frequencies on your display are active, i thought possible jet scatter , who knows what transmitters they use on the oil rigs to entertain the crew, could like those 1 watt czech txs off ebay
