Just bogged down with 'stuff'. Very little time for radio. I wanted to keep myself busy though, and that's what I have been doing. Just not with radio. :(

Brazilian morning for me, but as usual with the Latins, I can't identify any. 1350 was particularly strong with announcements and 'noticias', but nothing that sounded like 'capital' or 'super' that I have heard here before. Also one on 1540 which would definitely be a new one for me, but although I hear 'radio...', I can't make it out.

Anybody still listening ? A few more interesting signals today.

I wonder if anybody got something coming above WWKB on 1520 for a short while around 0416 ? Unfortunately all I got was music with no announcements (either easy music, classics or religious - I didn't know the tracks - the main one was awful slow female warbling).

I am still recording!

I haven't been able to post for the last couple of weeks due to a computer re-install and then not being able to log into the forum for a couple of weeks.

Still receiving stations like CHIN 1540 quite regularly, but there's barely any audio from TA signals until 0100 at the very least.

I am testing new versions of Jaguar and so will still dabble over the summer months - I have never DXed MW in summer.

The noise is more of a problem recently, so I need to try to sort something out there if I can. Time to put a little plan into action.

If there is anybody recording who needs some Peruvians, Capital (1470) and (I presume) Bethel (1570) were booming in last night around 04:00. Capital with some nice IDs. There may be some more, but haven't had time to check yet.

I wonder if the Peruvian Navy have ever fought a battle ? At 04:05'48 there were pips with an announcement of "hora official peruana" from "la marina de guerra de Peru". Sorry we missed the battle, our clocks were 6 minutes slow !

I will be recording tonight. I just hope there isn't too much lightning around.

I managed to do a bit of careful re-positioning of the flag. Lifting the bass wire three feet at one end of the flag seemed to do the trick and I got the background noise down below -130 dB between 1400 - 1550. Noise levels across the rest of the band are around -120 dB. That's not too bad compared to recent weeks, so all but the very weakest of DX signals should get through now.

// Edit: Very weak Audio on 1470 and 1480 at 00:13.

Improved North American conditions overnight.

Decided to de-stress today and play radio. Some detailed notes after checking the band.

760 Is that religion on 760.0045? WCHP on high power overnight?
870 Probably WWL. Weak talk.870.9918.
960 Sports. Probably WEAV.
970 THREE stations just at audio level.
980 Oldies. Probably CHRF.
1050 WEPN and CHUM audible with BBC 5Splatter.
1060 Two stations.
1070 Two stations. CHOK probably dominant with oldies.
1110 Probably WBT. Huge splatter from local 1107.
1130 Second North American behind WBBR at 0118.
1150 US Talker. Maybe WHBY.
1210 VOAR pushing through Abso-splatter 1210.0082. Suspected WPHT talking on 1209.9997.
1310 CIWW.
1320 CJMR.
1340 OM speech just heard on 1339.9923.
1350 A lot happening here. Argentina dominant lately.
1360 Two here. WDRC and WMOB are the usual suspects.
1370 WDEA good, 1368 Manx splatter permitting.
1380 A few things happening here. CKPC dominant on 1380.0016.
1390 WEGP Fair.
1400 CBG dominant. WOND ID at 0100.
1410 CJWI pops low on 1409.9929.
1420 Country music, so CKDY 1419.9988. Talker on 1419.9953 - WBSM perhaps. Offset is right.
1430 WENE 1429.9942. ID'd as Fox Sports 14-30 "Binghamtown", which is Binghamton NY, near Endicott. CKPT also here at 1430.0001 in Indian language. Therei s also something else under WENE on the same offset.
1440 WHKW 1439.9851. WRED 1440.0001.
1450 Talker, some good signals but well-splattered. 1449.9961.
1470 WLAM with memories on 1470.0009. There's a talk station in here too at 1469.9974.
1480 Sports 1479.9999. Fair signals.
1490 has a few carriers at occasional audio level. talk 1489.9973, oldies 1490.0003.
1500 WTOP at 1499.9922.
1510 Religious daytimer at 1510.0032, signing off abruptly at 23:41:15.
1520 WWKB, well down at 1519.9761. Easily the strongest North American. Something just audible at 1520.0022. 1520.0406 Latin?
1540.9840 CHIN. 1539.9985 presumably KXEL. 1540.1145 unid.
1560.0003 WFME.
1570.0008 CJLV.
1580 Two here. CKDO may have a slight drift, 1579.9977 at 04:52. Also something at audio level 1580.0002 at 0413.
1590.0001 English talker. Badly splattered so cannot hear content.
1600 Dominant station is at 1599.9995. No doubt WUNR. Talker down at 1599.9945.

I didn't note all offsets, so please ask if you need to know any.

As always, offset reference frequencies are 693 5Live, 909 5Live, 1242 Absolute.

Wow! Fabulous conditions for North America at around 0500z this morning. I finally got a clear ID for WHO, Des Moines, Iowa 1040. Been trying for that for years.

Audio on most 10khz frequencies, plenty to check when going through recordings later.

Well done on WHO Rob. Dominant here at that time was CJMS. It is amazing how reception varies by location

John - I did mean to try to write up a comparison with your list for yesterday, but I'm afraid I just didn't have the time. Mostly the same as yours, though, but some of the stations that reached audio level for you were just carriers.

One item of interest was when I revisited 1490 where you said you had an oldies station. I've never had an ID for a NA station on this frequency, but got this very indistinct announcement between items of music at 0227.

I think I can make out "on your dial" at the end of the announcement, but the rest is beyond my ears. Any ideas ?

I tried to clean up your recording, but not a lot of improvement and nothing to go on.

I can just hear the station here, but not as clearly as you, if 'clearly' is the word. The same station pops up a few times though and I hope I can find an ID.

A busy day ahead so I don't know how much time I'll get to listen. Having a few minutes now, but will have to press on soon.

Lots of stuff just below the surface here.

Oldies on 1480 (1479.9904) is probably WGVU. Best around 0230. WSAR dominant.

Jim Bohannon and Westwood One on 1420 overnight, so probably WBSM.

That religious station on 1510 is there again, slightly clearer than last night, but leaving no clues once again. Did we decide who this was last season? Offset is 1510.0032 and sign off at 23:41.

Definitely Better conditions, but not sure I will be able to add to the above.

I think that your daytimer may be WWBC. Since the night it seemed to be on all night, I have been getting a carrier, sometimes with audio just before close down on the same offset that WWBC was on and closing around 2340.

Two clear days and one clear night on the 18th and 19th - with an abrupt return of the interference just after 21:00 UTC on the 19th. I couldn't find any TA signals in the early hours of the 19th, but the evening of the 18th gave some nice Asian signals. In particular on 1143 Taiwan at 1858-1902 was quite clear on the hour. And at 1946-2000 UTC the end of the Russian language broadcast from CRI on 1521 kHz was good at times , mixing with Saudi Arabia.

On the 19th TWN on 1143 and CRI 1521 were again present, but not quite as good. Asian time signal was heard on 1098 at 2000 UTC.

Simon:
The same thing here with the audio from the 1510 daytimer ... It only ever appears just before closedown, as if deliberately.

DaveB:
Congratulations! I knew you'd do it. You'll definitely be hearing more Asiatic DX along the way, noise permitting of course.

Possible tip - 1440 - WMAX - No ID heard, but EWTN ID at 0630. I can't find another station relaying EWTN on 1440. Maybe somebody else can find an ID
