87.5 unid. Heavily distorted. What language is it?

Post by zach_m » 06 Aug 2017 12:40

Hello there,

I would like to identify the language (and possibly a station) that I receive on 21st June 2017. The station briefly appeard on 87.5 at 0634 UTC. I recorded it quickly as an unid. At first I thought is French, but is not. The recording is heavily distored or might be off channel?

Any clues? Thanks in advance.

It is French and I think that you recorded Chaîne 3 from Kef El Akhal on 87.6 off-channel. I was receiving Algeria and eastern Spain here at the time of your recording.
Good DX.

Hi Nick,

I was logging Algeria and Spain too. Here is a partial screen from 21st June: https://s2.postimg.org/by37y8tk7/screen.png
It could be Chaîne 3 from Kef El Akhal on 87.6 and it's probably off channel, as you wrote. It's good to have another opinion when in doubt. I was left this log until today. Well, I am well behind with my logs. Thanks Nick. Good DX.
