A couple of UNIDs 96.9 / 90.9

Post by Patrick73 » 05 Jul 2017 21:56

Hi mates !

Could someone help ID these 2 UNIDs : http://hebergeurfichier.com/download/0b ... 1e81e.html
The 1st one was heard on 96.9 during an opening towards HRV / SRB / GRC
The 2nd one (after the tones) was received on 90.9, still with many greek stations all around.

Thanks a lot.

96.9 sounds more like Slovakian or Slovenian language. I would say Slovakian SRo 1 Rádio Slovensko. The other recording is a mystery, to be honest. Sound like Italian, but might be Romanian???

90.9 sounds Greek to me. As it sounds like a serious discussion, could it be ERA 3 Trito Programma from Ymittos? That would be my guess.
Good DX.

ok lets try to get this right...just plug in my earphones...lets star witht the 2nd 1:

90.9 is Greek for sure. Cyprus does not fit from the direction that certain day so lets concentrate on the mainland.
Trito is mostly a classical music station (talk is Proto/Net or less Deutero/Era2 and even Erasport), although they have talk but what I hear is a actual political talk programm
and the guy is mentioning "parapolisim...parapoli..........parapolisim...." (again!)

so this might have been

90.9 v s GRC parapoli 9090 Parapolitika FM 90.0 (Patra) Kallithea Fokidas (cgr-fok) 1923km

http://www.parapolitikaradio.gr/
http://www.parapolitika.gr/
http://www.parapolitika.gr/article/erch ... litika-901
https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%A0%CE ... AC_90.1_FM

this station is the follow-up from "902 Athens". I am not sure if this frequency is working, as it is not listed anywhere.
but in Greece this has nothing to say;)

however I am able to identify greek language, I do not know many words but this talk is not about classical music or instruments or Haydn or Beathoven.

this Parapolitika FM would be my guess....not 100 % sure for sure ;)

the first 1...I must say I am not TOO good in slavic languages but I am still learning.
this audio file is about television in Germany and how different counties are using video on demand and podcasts and downloads etc.

it is definetly NOT polish, NOT russian, belarussian, ukrainian, NOT chzech (the word TV spoken like "tellevisääää"), I am also not 100 % sure if this is a Slovakian native, cause SVK is very similar to chech language and has in fact (regarding a few words ) nothing to do with South Slavic languages. and he mentions pesnik or pjesnik (poet in Croatian or Slovenian)

here a movie of Slovakian language (which was confirmed by the station to be in fact their output)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aejm_s8DTs

(its the pronounciation of the word "TV" that made me stuck for a while...)

what I am sure of:
Slovenia does not fit, Val 202 is a hit music station for youngsters in fact it does sound different to me, the word TV (SVN: televizija) does also not fit.
its not Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia or Croatia as well. they all say "televizija" !!

so in fact SVK is the only alternative. I am not very lucky with that solution because I had a slight doubt, and in fact Regina is a regional state station with (slovakian) pop music and does not have these debates as far as i know

@ Zach: SRO 1 is NOT using 96.9 FM !! it is the second, regional state channel with musical px. REGINA using that QRG. pls keep that on mind. so it might be anything but not Radio Slovensko as they do not operate on 96.9 fm . ;)

SVK does normally speak of "televízia" or "televizor" or sth like this and not "televizi"

but jednorazovka (one shot) is slovakian or czech and I am 100 % sure this is NOT czech so SVK language is the only way out .
although I am not very happy because I am only 70 % sure ;)

the accent and pronounciation of the words would lead more to a Slovakian minority speaker from Serbia .

I would not claim it is Radio Regina (consider the style of talking and the content does not fit well to their format ) but maybe RTS Radio Beograd 1 has programmes in Slovakian for the minorities in the North ??

there's also a SVK minority in Hungary but HNG does not operate on 96.9

I am not really convinced this was Radio Regina from Poprad. I love the idea that this was Jastrebac with 100.000 watts (also regarding the direction of your logs , the angle and the distance which is very short to Poprad) with minority programe in Slovakian but do they broadcast sth like this??

do you have any longer recordings of both ??
maybe I am able to identify more words

Many thanks Zack, Nick for your hints, and PFM for your in-depth analysis !
I just uploaded slightly longer recording of both files ; hope they will provide more clues even if reception is pretty poor (earphones are more than useful !).

90.9 : http://hebergeurfichier.com/download/09 ... 95316.html
96.9 : http://hebergeurfichier.com/download/87 ... 6ff7c.html

Parapolitika sounds good to me on 90.9.
As for the other one, no idea though SRB ou SVK are good bets. Maybe the song they play and the comment that follows (very noisy) will help ... Keep finger crossed. (note that the file suddendly stops because it was the end of the IQ recording).

Filter BW was set to about 70k because of splatters from local stations 100k below / above (hugh density of stations in my area, within 50 km)

Thanks again for your help.

ok the longer recording does reveal that there was classical music before the talk. although the talk does not refer to the classical music before but indeed, in this case Trito Programa is possible, as well. at least if that classical music is not part of the show-opener.

regarding 96.9 there is also music, and this song fits to Regina, the second speaker says " poslúchať" which would be slovak.
Radio Beograd has programmes in Romani language, but does it also have minority shows in Slovakian? there is still a little doubt

PFM you're right! It's NOT SRo 1 as I posted aboive, it's SRo 2 Rádio Regina instead. Definitely Slovakian station!
