French Autoroute received on 107.7, 25-06-15

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 17 Aug 2015 12:12

I received one of the French Autoroute transmitters on 107.7 during the Es on the 25th June. I doubt there are any clues as to the transmitter site, but I see there are two networks now (other's too no doubt?). Radio Vinci Autoroute and plain old 'Autoroute' seem to be the main two now.

My French is not so good but I hear the usual references to "vehicles" and a road closure (I stand to be corrected on this) and I think I hear a mention of Marseille, so I guess not local reports of any kind.

The propagation at the time was focused on Dept. 40 with France Bleu Gasgogne giving RDS on 103.4.

107.7 unid Autoroute network, possibly Dept. 40 2100 25-06-15

I'm sure I have and I think it must have been when I lived in Nottinghamshire as there is nothing my Skegness tropo log. I thought I received it tentatively here, but I think I would have made a record of this. I wish I could remember more.

A lot of my Nottinghamshire loggings were lost due a simultaneous hard drive failure and my website being hacked. How likely is that? I can do it!

"Better late than never" :)

Indeed, you received a French Autoroute radio! What we can hear on your recording is a national news report (this has nothing to do with traffic information).
I totally recognize the radio host voice as well as the audio processing, it's Radio Vinci Autoroutes as you suspected.

The radio host talks about the "war" between taxi and Uber drivers. Indeed, Marseille is mentionned in your recording because "someone (I can't hear the name) must move in this city to process a case".
Here is an article about this story: https://www.politico.eu/article/frances ... war-is-on/

At 1:04, she talks about a tragedy (maybe an important crash?) and then the signal disappears...

Thank you Pascal. Good to know this.

I am fairly sure that I received one of the Autoroutes on 107.7 via tropo too, but I cannot find that log. Must be from my Nottinghamshire days. I lost a lot of files and loggings back then.

Oh! Apparently I have a new first name since last night  ;)
Also, I think you already know it but I prefer to remind you: There are not only Autoroutes radios on 107.7 in France, although this frequency remains mostly used by Autoroutes stations. For example, there's Radio FG in Lorient on 107.7, which is far from being an Autoroute radio.

Here's the list of all the French Autoroutes stations which broadcast, of course, on 107.7:
• Sanef 107.7
• Radio Vinci Autoroutes
• Autoroute Info
• Autoroute de Gascogne FM
• Normandie Trafic
• Radio Atlandes Autoroute

I've never received an Autoroute station via Es but I did receive Normandie Trafic on 107.7 via tropo late last year:

The tx site is either Falaise or Argentan.
Good DX.

I've also double-checked the CSA (French Ofcom) listing, might be propagation.
Probably scanning the band atm. And definitely moaning about the conditions.

On the 24th of June, 2009 I have been able to receive Radiotraffic FM on 107.7 MHz via Sporadic-E.
This was "r 107.7" with 6.3 watts from 1340 km in the 31 departement, transmitter site Labege.

This town is located about 10 kilometres south east of Toulouse, Haute-Garonne dep, Occitanie region .
Today, this mast is inactive / off air as well as the Radiotraffic network is now called Vinci Autoroute, I see.

My log was confirmed the same day by email twice, each independent from the other confirmation. 8-)

Radio Trafic FM no longer exists since 2011, it has been replaced by the current Radio Vinci Autoroutes. In 2009, the PS was "R-TRAFIC" and not yet "r 107.7". "r 107.7" appeared since the replacement by Radio Vinci Autoroutes in 2011.
I have some good memories of Radio Trafic FM in the 2000s and I've always found that their jingles were very nice by the way. :)
