Sittingbourne MS Log 05/11 15 and 06/11/15

Still a reasonable amount of MS activity over the last couple of nights with a few bursts that gave strong reflections on every frequency in the wav file. This should not be surprising as the North Taurids shower peaked over the 4th/5th November (I knew that!). This will slide into the South Taurids shower - peaking on the 12/13th and then the Leonids peaking on 17/18th. And then the "bestest" one of all the Geminids on Dec 13/14 - but the days before/after should also be good.

I suppose the highlight was to get two Swiss stations from the same site - Mount Saleve - with pi codes. The power output is only 2 kw. I'm certain that the classical music on 87.8 was SRF1 and the french speaker on 92.1 on the same burst were also Swiss stations from the same site - but "intuition" doesn't appear as an option on FMList :D

The only downside is it takes quite a while to go check through 8 hours of recordings.

Overnight of the 7th activity dropped to almost nothing. Oops  just found the vertical antenna was connected - maybe that was the reason for almost no MS

I hope not Dave. I recorded overnight with my antenna deliberately vertical, beaming north-east for vertical Scandinavians. I've only had time to check though the first batch of files so far but I don't see a lot of activity.

Thanks for the reminder of the Leonids shower. I hadn't even thought about these.
