Future of OIRT Band?

Post by AMDXHUN »

In Belarus OIRT is alive, in Ukraine too - newly started religious stations using it but Ukrainske Radio seems like will leave it soon, several stations in Moldavia on air too - plus Radio Moldova Actualități was re-launched 67.37 and 71.24 MHz stations. But in Russia Radio Rossii will leave it soon, Mayak was almost left it, YuFM totally closed down. You can hear only 3 stations in Moscow: 66.44 > Radio Rossii 68.0 > Avtoradio 72.92 > Radio Radonezh. Thats all!

These countries why aren't adobting a law that all locally produced and imported tuners must have the 66...74 MHz band? Like in Japan.
In Russia Radio Rossii losing its high powered transmitters and using low powered ones on CCIR band in big cities, rural areas will remain without coverage.

By the way, Mayak used to be as usual as Radio Rossii during an OIRT propagation, but now Mayak is having as many OIRT relays as Orfey in SpE distance (from Hungary)
Active Mayak transmitters in the European part of Russia(according to FMList):
67,13 Smogiri
70,07 Sochi
72,11 Cherkessk
72,65 Saratov

Orfey relays:
70,07 Lipetsk
71,33 Volgograd
71,66 SPB
71,93 Tula

Mayak from Tula on 70,07 has left the band in the middle of July, it was usually heard with 71,93 from Tula area(TX might be different)

Sad to know you say only 3 stations now in Moscow. When I was staying there in 2012 the OIRT band was fairly crowded as you hear and see with a video I took, true I was 28 floors high in the hotel though so guess I was getting some DX relays https://youtu.be/-kVu6u_Nemo

Moscow's surroundings have a lot of OIRT relays, fortunately they are not as involved in the OIRT shutdown process as GTRK Tver, Tambov, Stavropolye or Volgograd area.
By the way, a new station has appeared in the band this summer, 70,82 Solnechnogorsk switched to Vesti FM.

We have not had any OIRT relays since 2007.
(Central European states had ceased their OIRT broadcasts until 2010 as I know. The only neighbouring country using OIRT is Ukraine, their UR2 Promin on 71,9 from Khust is so powerful that I can listen to it on a daily basis, although I live in South Hungary, near the Serbian border :D )

regarding Mayak, my print-out from 28.july 2018 shows the following within range:

2020 are the following outputs left:

72,65 Saratov

(red marked ones are gone at the end of the season the year they are listed)

next CCIR frequencies in the lower FM band are
88,2 Nizhnikamski
88,7 Belgorod
88,7 Donetsk
89,6 Wladikaukas

Why did you put 68,99 into your list? 68,99 Morozovsk is definitely off-air.

It must be wrong, although I have already had more than 3 powerful openings to this area(MUF was above 108MHz for more than half an hour)this season ,68,99 has not been received yet.
