new UK Comms appearing on oirt this year

Post by Tim Bucknall » 24 Aug 2018 22:33

After having a quiet band since the fire brigade went digital suddenly Comms are popping up in the 66mhz range
In 2014 I noticed a data channel in London on 66.3, this is now popping up in other parts of the country
And this year weak Comms started to become audible at my qth on 66.325, 67.525 and another channel I can't remember.
Accents are northern English but so far I can't figure out what the purpose of these are.
It's wierd that voice activity is picking up in this band when it's declining in the rest of the bands.

PS
If you ever get an opening to northern England check for the GPS transmitter on the roof of Macclesfield hospital on 67.94

These frequencies appear to be in very little use around the country..,,nothing heard down here anyway in East Sussex
