wow the Toender log is mind-blowing. this mast is quite small. also Videbäk is still a good log, however they are using bit more ;)

So some of the Danish locals are using more power than listed? Is that because they are being naughty or because station lists are not updated?

Thanks.

probably both. regarding the 2018 frequency plan with gold nuggets such as 88,2 Rangstrup vs. 88,2 Moegeltoender /106.1 Holbaek vs 106.1 Slagelse or even 95.6 Vordingborg vs. 95,6 Hvalso I am wondering how they find some of their frequencies. lots of them have a coverage of 8 - 25 km. seems to be the only way to blow up the TRP a little bit (or as they say in Romania, not breaking the law but bending it in their own interest). actually, the public listings differ a lot from many dxers (Peer Axel eg.) experience. however, the official plan does provide ERP which does not fit with the DX sites in many cases. few masts are a mystery. I keep on wondering how 160 watts from Nordjylland can be able to reach Sylt with RDS lol I think it is no bad intention, but the market for local radio in DK is small and there will remain only 4 -5 regional chains in the future as dozens of locals were shut down or sold. Look at Sweden, the local consessions of Rix, Megapol and NRJ will be nation-wide from 1st August (those used to carry local morning hosts and local news once). guess the same will happen in DK pretty soon with VLR, Skala, ANR, Classic Fm, Voice, 100, myRock.. nation wide. there are also plannings to establish a second PPP channel (such as 24syv) with focus on classical music and culture, so they would have Deutschlandfunk and DLR Kultur in DK ;)

All very interesting. Thank you PFM.

Without checking the details now, I once received a 13 watt relay of NRK P1 from Norway. Other DXers in northern Germany and Holland received this. I did not believe it could be possible, so I did some research and contacted a member of NRK I know who is also a DXer. He was able to confirm that the 13 watts was completely accurate. That duct was intense and many other NRK outlets were strong at the time. So just to point out that 160 watts can still do a lot of damage, given the right conditions. (Just don't ask me for more info about the logging. The details have long been lost due to hard drive failure.)

I think it was on 99.6 John, from a little island off the coast IIRC.
Good DX.

That's right. I wish I could remember all the detail, I would re-create that logging.

I think it might have been NRK P1 Sørlandet. This page lists it on 99.6 from Farestad:

http://nettradio.blogspot.com/2011/05/n ... andet.html

Location looks good on Google Maps:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/4516+ ... d7.5311429

It's an island just off the southern tip of mainland Norway. FMLIST has it listed with 8 watts. Wasn't it 4 watts at the time of your reception?
Good DX.

I think your log may have been in October 2003 John. I certainly remember reading that you had several days of Norwegian tropo that month with some of your locals being disrupted by Norwegian DX!
Good DX.
