peak district 26/9/15

Lovely afternoon with our very own Julian and the new Mrs Hardstone in Bakewell celebrating my 37th Birthday at the Austrian Restaurant
just a few observations on the car radio

106.8 BBC R1 , Stanton Moor (3rd Order IP 92.0 + 99.4) very weak mixing with dominant Ridings FM at the riverside industrial estate on the Northern edge of Bakewell, then lost completely in the town centre to a wall of screeching electronic qrm, this is at the absolute limit of reception for this sprog afaik

Axe Edge quick scan @ 15:00
87.5 UK Raw poor, usual dance mx
87.7 Unid, Kids singing in Arabic, Leicester?

Happy birthday Tim! :D What's the DX like at the Salzburg Coffee?

I'm looking forward to the tropo over the next few days (providing the predictions aren't downgraded too much). I've already had bits of Pic du Midi on 87.9 yesterday evening and a little earlier today, so hopefully a good sign.
Good DX.

thanks :-) tropospheric DX is very poor in Bakewell town itself despite the many blank channels , its in a dip and theres a suprising level of electronic qrm for such a small town
but good dx spots are close by, middleton top etc
