Skegness Files: 2015-07-08 (Es: C SW & S Europe & Turkey)

Sporadic E files from July 8th 2015.

I uploaded a lot of these since we have just upgraded to a superfast fibre internet connection (if you call 40 MBPS down / 10 MBPS up fast), so the extra online activity should help with the initial service testing.

You will need the Monkey's Audio compression tool to decompress the files, available here: http://www.monkeysaudio.com/

Note: Mediafire sometimes throws up pop-up ads. These are harmless. Just close them.

Good DX!

I'm sorry to say that 5 Mbps does not give any incentive to download 1Gb files the Win10 update took ages to download- and I wouldn't even attempt to upload at the 1Mbps I've got. Still it's a lot better than the days of "bip-bip-bop-bup-beep-bip.....screeeeeee.wibble...wibbble...." when we had 56kbps dial up and pictures took 30 seconds to appear :D
SDRPlay, AirSpyMini, RTL dongles, SB920s, Yamaha TX930. 5 ele compact yagi on rotator at 18ft agl. FM5 facing east, FM5 facing south, FM3 facing NE, OIRT dipole, 3-ele Moxon vertical facing east.

Our internet is still like that today at times! At least we have a more reliable internet connection here since moving to fibre, yet it still manages to drop regularly overnight. (We've only had fibre in Skegness for a year or two.) Since about April/May time we have had virtually no overnight internet connection. They can barely summon 1MB connections in the wilds of the Fenlands and the Wolds, even just outside town I know people who have half a meg download speed. 40 MB is indeed fast - and more than fast enough for anything I use, but the average fibre these days is something like 250 MB, so I understand. So I'm still living in the past here :)

(Eeeee!) I remember t'days when it took 20 minutes to download a 3 MB mp3 file - and THAT was considered fast! But we were happy then.
