Skegness File: 2015-07-29 (FM)

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 02 Aug 2015 20:07

As per Tim's suggestion in the Yahoo group, I have uploaded one of my Icelandic files from July 29th.

https://www.mediafire.com/?80bz4e059hwcakb

This is probably the best of the four I recorded. There are only three or four stations on there so don't expect wall-to-wall Icelandic DX. Maybe Peter will be able to drag out a PI code from 93.3 as you say Tim.

By the way, I have already had a play with SDR# and RDS Spy, but found that it was much less sensitive than the FDM-S2 > VAC > RDS Spy combination. I must be doing something wrong.

Cheers all!

Hello John,
I might have got a PI for 93.3

Unfortunately the correct PI isn't listed for this station. Is there anyone in Iceland on this list?
I got AF65 in SDR# native RDS Decoder but not in RDS Spy. I've had correct PI codes like this before.

Still photos attached.

Very interesting Peter. Sounds more likely to be a correct PI than a random one with an A prefix. Does this combination of software ever produce an incorrect code?

There isn't a PI code listed for the main Suderland FM transmitter on 96.3 unfortunately.

Hello, yes false PI codes are often seen, hence my caution, but was seems less likely a falsie would begin with the correct character "A".
I meant that neither 93.3 nor 96.3 has a PI code listed.
