Ideal MWDX Equipment?

I found the AOR AR7030 superb for MW DXing. I remember hearing Brazil and other South Americans at night using a long wire going up the roof of the house.

Sadly less than a year after buying it (late 90s) QRM levels suddenly increased so much that MW DXing was rendered impossible.
Good DX.

Well increasing QRN levels are what prompted research into Loops/EWE/Flags/Pennants etc. A long wire on the roof now would just be a noise receptor in urban/suburban environments.

I think it is okay for suggest that the Kenwood R1000 given by a Ham friend is silent for MW DX also LW but the friend did tell that the radio for age need possible realignment and possible soldering for the pwr & receiver board circuit. For now i wait the airspy HF+ arrive and a flag balun so can use only the TS 850s + ALA1530 actif loop and for now receive not MW US DX & Latin Americas because RNE Espagne & UK stations dominate here the band.

Good Luck and happy DX-ing!!
