ripping/tearing noise centered on 810khz mw

Post by Tim Bucknall » 17 Aug 2015 10:45

not new but really a problem this morning as i wanted a // for Radio Scotland on FM

internet // are delayed so i prefer MW

810 Scotland doesn't seem as powerful as it once was, even away from the home qrm
maybe its the general insidious increase in the noise floor or they're trying to cut costs at westerglen

will upload mp3 file of the qrm when i get chance

another useful // freq -Ulster 1341 is pretty noisy these days but not as bad as 810 which is totally wiped out at home

luckily 909 & 882 still useable for // checks

234 is just about useable

Can't hear the Dropbox recording Tim. Even though I have a Dropbox account and I am signed in, it still wants me to sign in or create an account.

The 4Shared link works. Sounds like a flourescent tube.

John you can just close the window in dropbox that asks you to open an account/sign in, and then hit the download button.
4 shared has a lot of evil traps such as ilivid so best avoided.

Ah. That damn iLivid thing. Yes, I have experience of that thing.

I tried what you said regarding Dropbox, Peter, and it works Thanks for this.

I used to get iLivid popups when trying to download games for free that were supposed to be paid for. I love my video games but I hate iLivid! It's forced upon us.
