Tropo > NE, E, SE and S

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness »

Not a lot happening here, but some tropo to Germany, N France, coastal Belgium and Holland. Denmark is on 93.3 - thanks to Chris in Lichfield for this alert - via the chat room. Seems inland is doing better.

Good DX!

That's good! You beat me to it. I was just going to send out an alert for Danish DX. Northern Germany is also starting to improve.

A few minutes before midnight I heard something on 95.6 peaking east playing blues & rock. I presumed it was Classic 21 from Liège. After the song ended though, the ID was given. It wasn't Classic 21 at all, but BR FM from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent! This is a first time log here, and a real surprise.
Good DX.

No tropo here this morning. Even the Danish and German stuff had faded by midnight, but then the air had changed.

The last two days saw temperatures of only 20C, dragged down by low cloud and mist rolling in off the sea. Just up the road at The Wash, the temperatures only reached 18C. Yet a few miles to the south in the Peterborough area, the temperature was 30C. That nice, cool, refreshing sea breeze has now gone, the DX being taken with it. I don't recall such a fine dividing line of temperatures like this since I've lived here (Ten years), but I was glad of the cooler weather. Now we're set to bake again for a few days.
