it' s the opposite here in GERMANY.

There have been some good moments, but now Arabic stations are occupying the band and suddenly, all the Asians are gone.

819 kHz Korea @ 1511 UTC / 1539 UTC
972 kHz Korea @ 1451 UTC / 1507 UTC / 1513 UTC / 1518 UTC / 1546 UTC
1134kHz Korea @ 1503 UTC / 1544 UTC / 1558 UTC
1143kHz Korea @ 1554 UTC

774 Egypt
1278 Oman + Egypt
819 Italy
1566 UK ?? (rock, "To France")

no chance for Japan, at least not for NHK 2 who is supposed to sign off at 15 UTC according to lists.

was good until 16 uTC but not it is all gone.

Two suggestions:
- I've read somewhere that AM Classic is no longer broadcasting on 819 kHz;
- some pirate broadcastings coming from Italy* has been often reported on 1566 kHz (with pops&rocks, especially from the Eighties, without Ids or announcements).

* Tuscany, very probably..... ;)

Thanks for the imput, I am not sure about the station on 819, might be UK or NL pirates as well ?

However, according to http://radio-tv-nederland.nl/am/am.html (which is more or less recent), both - 819 and 1566 are not typical of NL radio stations but sometimes used by pirates in the South and, of course, the latter one, by LPAM in UK

Direction of antenna does not fit to any of them, but even the Arabs are coming strong now unless I am pointing towards Far East :cry:

Laszlo, can you ever receive 4QD on 1548? There's always a carrier here. It's often up to audio levels, but there's not chance of hearing it because of FOUR co-channel Europeans.

Never :( From sunset Gold 1548 is the dominant, and from 1900 TWR Europe is booming with S9+40. Australia is a dream for me!

That's a shame. TWR can be a pest here, but I find Forth 2 the main problem. There are two other stations too, neither of which will allow me to receive 4QD in the clear.

John, Laszlo if any consolation 1548khz here in the Ile de France is also dominated during the late evenings with the nuisance "Gold Station" as much i enjoy the english oldies music i prefer if possible receive dx on this frequency. Other Stations can be heard in the background when Gold fades away but too weak for knowing the origin. Unfortunately with MW i am very limited for dx given the equipment i have is most probably not good for such enjoyment.

Is this that carrier on 1548.01 kHz?

That should be it. It is quite distinctive with its slight drift.

It doesn't drift as far down as 1548.011. I presume you mean up to 1548.0011.

*I* know what I mean. Explaining it clearly is a different matter. ;)

To make it short : 4QD should be somewhere between .007 and .011, right ?

Yes, between approximately 1548.008 and 1548.010. This is exactly where I see it.
