It has gone totally mental this evening - the Spanish/south opening faded out and was suddenly replaced by stuff from the East. I've done relatively little live logging - so my work will be cut out with the recordings. Highlights were St Petersburg on 89.7 at 1727 UTC.

During this period until now Band I TV has been very active all the way to R5. I have identified carriers on 93.2500 and 93.2396 but no idea where they are from as there are choices in both the general direction of St Petersburg (50 deg azi) and to the East (UKR). On R3 MDA M1 has been extremely strong with colour on peaks, and also on R2.

Just fading out in the lst 20 minutes lthough the OIRT band is still hanging on. I'll check the on the hour/half-hour recordings later to see if there is any 'good' stuff present.
SDRPlay, AirSpyMini, RTL dongles, SB920s, Yamaha TX930. 5 ele compact yagi on rotator at 18ft agl. FM5 facing east, FM5 facing south, FM3 facing NE, OIRT dipole, 3-ele Moxon vertical facing east.

I caught just a bit of this while driving at about 18:30z, seemed to be mostly Hungarian language, there was sport on 88.2 + 88.5, any quiet channel had some up to 93.4 which was as far as I got. 87.6 had "Budapest" in the speech.

The only RDS I saw was BLANIK on 87.8 but I've no idea what that was

87.6 was a mixture of three stations here.

Kossuth Radio, Gyor (Hungary)
Radio Impuls, Brno (Czech Republic)
BNR Radio Shumen, Shumen (Bulgaria)

The Black Sea coast of Bulgaria was dominant for the final hour. That's a distance of over 2300 km. But conditions were strong to CZE, SVK, ROU, HNG, D (definitely Es), AUT, I, BUL, MDA, POL for a few hours.

I made a few recordings for future perusal.

only Radio Rossii (public RU service) low power and BTRC 1st national (Belarus public service) listed, no Ukraine.
regarding the distance, I would rather claim it was the latter, although this kind of music fits more to cultural px.

too bad I missed this opening on OIRT: when I tuned in, everything beneath 74 MHz towards East was already gone.

That would be Belarus. I had the same signal yesterday and it was 69.08 BR Radio Brest. See my log here: https://www.fmlist.org/fm_logmap.php?da ... &omid=4700

oh sorry, I missed that out. searching from my QTH in Nth Ger, that one didn't show up as Braslaw / Pinsk / Svisloch / Smorgon / Slonim and Grodno are tropo distance < 1000 km. in that case, you are right. BTRC's regional radios (Gomel, Vitebsk, Mogilev...) are both, RU and BY spoken with ads in both languages or even more RU than BY sometimes

Monday was a crazy night as the reception was so strong. I picked up Digi FM on 104.8 and Rractual on 101.1 with RDS. Another strong one was Fun Radio 87.7 from Slovakia complete with full radiotext. I did pick up a few Polish stations with some Polish dancy/pop being heard on 88.0 but the signal wasn't strong enough for RDS. I also picked up a strong classical station on along with some phone in 87.6 for a time but again I wasn't able to identify it or understand what language it was.

That must have been the following ones:

87.6 v s POL Dwojka 3222 PR 2 Zamość/Tarnawatka (LB) 902km 109° 9.8 30
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarnawatka_Transmitter

88 h s POL JEDYNKA 3211 PR 1 Krosno/Sucha Góra (PK) 852km 117° 120
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucha_G%C3%B3ra_TV_Tower

Sucha Gora is located in the very sth. parts of PL right next to the border with Slowakia.
Tarnawatka is located in the s.eastern parts of PL right next to the border with Ukraine.
