I don't think there's a need for argument on what it was and what wasn't. Perhaps it was a brief Eskip and perhaps it was mobile TX. The fact is, whatever it was, the fading pattern is different from Es but an aggravating discussion is not necessary.

Actually, I do not like the tone of this conversation.
Let us stick to the facts:

We do not know what this was for sure.

We cannot prove it was E-skip. We cannot prove it wasn't. But there is a little doubt.

We have no proof for a car transmitter either. However, it is possible.

I admit, the fading is very unusual for ES. I have received car audio on 107.7 a few weeks ago, and I will provide this recording to you some days in the future. It was an interesting experience.

But this recording sounds different.

Could it have been aircraft scatter? Rather not, seems too stable.
Could it have been meteor scatter? Really not.
Could it ´have been tropospheric propagation? Might be. 88vier Berlin has programs dedicated to immigrants and is about 800 k away, so it is in range for both ES or tropo.

Let us wait and see if anyone else is coming up with a (reasonable) solution or any other log /unid from that day.

Until then I would like to keep in mind that the fact, that we don't see a proof, is no reason to believe that something wasn't or hasn't.

We haven't found dragon bones yet. But does that prove that dragons have never extised? I dont think so...there are things we do not know.
There are things happening which we cannot explain logically. Thre are mysteries in human life, as well as riddles in physics and chemistry.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Hello everybody - DXers, car transmitter listeners and duck hunters who learn to distinguish ducks from geese!

Sporadic-e propagation could appear several times at the end of April and in May in our region, judging by logs of colleagues, but I couldn't listen quite often. I understand that I should be satisfied with the first provable opening of the season on 18th May, however, while in the OIRT band:
http://www.fmlist.org/fm_logmap.php?dat ... 8&band=ALL
13 stations from 9 regions of Russia. All these signals are recorded on video.

Good season to all! 73!

This topic seems to me very suitable for further review of the reception of sporadics in Latvia this year. Each of us has as much time as possible... So after what I already wrote about here, I received Es on May 24, May 25, May 26, June 1 and 2. Unfortunately, the period from June 3 to 5 was absolutely empty. So far, observations in May have been studied only partially, but two days of June are completely.

May 24th.
Turkey, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Greece.

May 25th.
Russia (OIRT), Ukraine (OIRT), Turkey, Iraq, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Austria.
88,3 Radio Dijla, Baghdad, Iraq, 3017 km
This was my third reception of Iraq (before heard twice in June 2011), first double hop of the season and first double hop in May ever.

May 26th.
Russia (OIRT), Turkey.

June 1st.
Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic.

June 2nd.
Russia (OIRT).

Finally sporadic e is returned back in Latvia. Today I cought a lot off OIRT FM transmitter signals. Most of them have signal recordings and they will be uploaded on my youtube channel. Here is one of my today's recordings: 67,19 - Radio Rossii, Kudymkar, Perm region, Russia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T788vj4SoaY
