Christmas FM 87.7

Post by Andrew Webster,Wigan » 17 Dec 2016 18:12

I have been receiving this all day and it has weakened since dusk it matched 105.2 when that came up this afternoon the rest of Ireland is slightly up.
I am not convinced this is from Galaway although their TX list says 87.7 is only from Galaway so is there a closer TX on 87.7?

I had Christmas FM on 87.7 today about 15:00 very weak signal and had Galway Bay Fm on 96.8 also very weak so Christmas FM may well be from Galway.
I was in the usual spot high car park Helvick Head Co. Waterford. Galway Bay FM was eventually wiped out by BBC R Cymru and Christmas disappeared under splatter from RTE R1 with a very strong signal on 87.8 from Clermont Carn Co Louth the opposite end of the country.

I recorded this brief clip. There was bright sunshine so I couldn't see the display very well.

Frequency for 'north Wicklow' on the east coast has been changed from 107.3 to 99.5
Also a transmitter introduced near Ennis Co. Clare on 105.2
