I have one, bought it 3 years ago when there were not too many choices available.
To be honest, I found it a bit fiddly to use (ethernet connection, tho you can have a 250khz bandwidth with a USB connection) and I'm not sure it represents the best value for money these days.

I also have a Funcube Dongle Pro Plus and I have found the latter a better RX and less prone to overload on HF. Obviously has a smaller receive bandwidth, but a much bigger range of frequencies available. And it is less expensive.

I don't know what sort of budget you have, but the Elad S2 is a great all rounder with a generous bandwidth, and being a 16-bit beast (Afedri is 12-bit) it has a good dynamic range and I've had no overload problems with it.

The native SW1 software can record the MF band. There is support for the S1 in other SDR apps such as Simon's SDR Console.

Incidentally the Perseus was down to £539 at Martin Lynch's open day last weekend.

I don't know much about the S1 but I have read that the S2 is a better performer. Something along the lines of being more sensitive or less chances of overload, etc. It's all on the Elad Yahoo group. You could ask there for a breakdown of the differences. It's a helpful group.
