The night before, I came accross what is probably an italian pirate station, playing non-stop love songs (including italian songs) on 1566. No ID, no talk (heard from approx 2130 onwards).
This was not Radio Kolbe.
The same broadcast was on air last Friday after 1700 CET (here, the signal was strong and without fading) and has been reported by other Italian BCL/Dxers several times in the past months.
But, from where do it comes?
The strenght of the signal suggests that these broadcasts could be related with the absence of Radio Studio X on 1584 but who knows :?:

Thanks Franco ! It was quite loud at my location, near Chambery. Someone on a FB group (Radioascolto a 360°) stated it was probably "The Crazy pirate from Toscana". Do you know what it refers to ?

Hope it will soon be identified ;-)

They probably refer to the so called "Radio Scoglione", a pirate broadcast supposed to be insulting against Roberto Scaglione (the producer of a broadcast for italian dxers named Studio DX).
The name of this "radio" is a play on words between Scoglione and Scaglione (you can translate "coglione" with the french word "con" :P).

Here (https://www.bclnews.it/2018/07/02/radio ... -supposta/ ) you can find a long description of the strange broadcasts aired in Italy on 1584 or 1566 kHz since last January. I hope that Google Translator will be useful for your comprehension,

Frankly speaking: some people thinks that every oddity that happened in last months in italian MW (Radio Scoglione, the so called Radio Oberfranken, the strong disturbances against RDE-Free Radio AM, the strong musical broadcasts on both frequencies) is related to the denial for "somebody" to get a regular licence to broadcast.
Seeing as they cannot broadcast properly, they have decided to act as naughty boys.

Is it really so? I don't know.

Thanks for this very detailed reply Franco.
I wasn't aware of the situation regarding the italian MW scene.

Another (supposed) italian private / pirate radio currently active tonight (2200 UTC) on 1206, playing pop / rock / new-wave (Depeche Mode, Tina Turner, Umberto Tozzi). An ID was given at 22:04 but I could not get it due to very poor signal. Huge fading + local interference and weak overall reception.

This is *not* Amica Radio Veneta (checked their stream).

Hello Patrick,

right after 23 UTC and for a half hour, I have received on 1206 kHz only the Israeli Reshet Bet with pops and talks.
The "free" broadcasting had already signed off?

Concerning Amica Radio Veneta, it seems that they are inactive on MW since four or five months.

Ciao Franco,

I made a very short I/Q recording at 2300z, but it is not there.
Accurate carrier frequency was 1206.002 (Israel 1206.000, and China also visible on 1265.962 - UNid carrier noted on 1265.978). I heard them from about 2140 to 2210z, but did not tried later while still 'listening live''. So it seems they S-Off between 2215 and 2255z.
