Post by Tim Bucknall » 05 Sep 2015 18:24

France Bleu Paris 864 has now been Mono for approx. 1 month, in view of the forthcoming closure of MW broadcasts in France its unlikely the fault will be repaired

Actually it's still stereo though any am stereo tuner needing the pilot light for stereo reception will now only give mono. i.e. on my Sony SRF A-100 and Sony SRF 42 radios stereo still exists plus using SoDira with the FCD+ does still give stereo :)

Not exactly Julian. It's the end of the French state medium wave outlets. Bretagne 5 on 1593 for one will continue.

France Bleu Paris 864 kHz signed off at 0009 UTC, Strasbourg 1278 followed at 0013, Lille 1377 (France Info) at 0014. 1494 is off as well.

Happy New Year & 73!

I agree as I especially enjoyed France Bleu on 864 and 1278 khz from time to time. On the other hand, quite a few channels are now clear for DXing.
