TA lively tonight -02/03 Nov 2019

Post by daveB »

There are more transatlantic stations present than I've had so far this season. Tomorrow I will check through the recordings to see just who they are. The usual 'suspects' are there, 590, 1010, 1130 but lots of new ones (for me).

Yes I have noticed strong signals with these ones audible on a normal radio (quite unusual for the beginning of November):

1010 WINS
1130 Bloomberg (local strength, I can follow the whole broadcast)
680 WKRO "The Voice of Boston"
1140 CBC Radio One

also Longwave is excellent with both Iceland tx.s (207 is totally clear).
even 171 Médi1 heard here for the first time ever.

I didn't fancy standing outside at midnight on a Saturday night, so I waited until dawn.
Pretty good here, maybe the best yet. I used the Tecsun PL-398MP this morning, as the ETM feature is very good for scanning and storing stations. Less whines and whistles too than the D-808.

Yes, good night. Especially the NY stations were good. 1130 WBBR becoming a daily powerhouse where you can just listen to the programme "at armchair". I had better nights as this season there were no K-stations audible here in the eastern part of Holland. Had very weak signals from 840 WHAS Kentucky and 1510 WLAC Tennessee tough which pleased me a lot . And a very brief appearance of R Nac Columbia on 570.
Receivers:
General: Grundig satellit 650, Lowe HF-225, Tecsun PL660
FM: Sony XDR-S10HDip ands XDR-S3HD Degen De1103
DAB: Akai ADB10(2x),
All with telescope antenna, dipole and Loopantenna for mediumwave

I completely neglected to look for TA last night. Though I've never heard anything here before midnight. Amazing number of pirates though last night all transmitting at the same time on 1615, 1619, 1633 (Yogi?), 1638 (Bluebird), 1645 and 1660. Only Bluebird could be heard well without my MW loop.
Sangean ATS-909X, Tecsun S-8800, Sangean PR-D5, Eton Elite Executive, Roberts R861, Tecsun PL-310ET, Grundig Yacht Boy 400, Radiwow R-108, Tecsun R9700DX, Grundig City Boy 700, Philips D1835, Realistic DX-360, Panasonic RF-3500, Sony XDR-P1DBP.
