MW conditions must be excellent. When I was driving home a couple of hours ago I checked 1377 kHz on the car radio and China was peaking up at GOOD levels. I've never heard it that strong before.
Good DX.

how do all of you manage to hear NHK 2 after 15 UTC ?
According to https://www.mwlist.org/mwlist_quick_and ... =2&kHz=747
all of the NHK 2 transmitters will be switched-off at 15 UTC.
What is the correct time they sign off then??

They seem to go off air around 1543. Around 1541 they start playing a recording of a music box which is very memorable once you have heard it. Before that today they had a language program in English.

Reception was fairly brief, India kept taking over.

Hey John, I just noticed your emails from yesterday. Oops. Things have been good these last two days. At times 1098 and 1143 were excellent today two far east stations on 1098 at times. One Taiwan for sure. Taiwan on 1143 last night with Indonesian and good ID. 918 China today as well. Things about to go south? A and K numbers up and Brazil is very good on 760 as i type.

1377 China was in y'day indeed but its a total other direction so they were not interfering Armenia with its test broadcast in RU language.

1017 China was in too. 1521 was not so good due to co-channel interference also 1566 had problems (Korea). many LPAM from UK yesterday

between 20 and 21 UTC, I have noticed China on 819 in the back of Norht Korea. Shanxi PBS was playing its traditional music again...

thanks for the info on NHK which is really helpful. I always ended observing J frequencies after ~ 15:05 UTC thinking they might be off sooner or later. useful to know it could get better for another 30 minutes, when Spanish intruder on 774 are not that strong. those play strange music before 15 UTC and I often thought it was NHK , but then hearing the European time signal very well and the four beeps of NHK only in the back.

Don't worry Paul.

I am tempted to state that the conditions I have experienced on MW this month have been the best I have ever known domestically. My half-sized wonky flag has brought in several exotic firsts and sometimes with decent signals. There is a 'but', I don't seem to be in the Oriental zone at the moment. 1278 JOWF and 1413 JOIF were audible at 1800, but those were the pick of the bunch. I never hear anything remotely Japanese sounding on 747 and 774. All rather odd.

Here are a few of the stations I have logged in the last month.

660 CFFR Calgary AB
680 KBRW Barrow AK
680 CJOB Winnipeg MB
710 KIRO Seattle WA
750 CKJH Melfort SK
770 CHQR Calgary AB
920 CFRY Portage La Prairie MB
930 CJCA Edmonton AB
950 CFAM Altona MB
990 CBW Winnipeg MB
1060 CKMX Calgary AB
1140 CHRB High River AB
1160 KSL KSL Salt Lake City UT
1230 CFFB Iqaluit NU
1250 CHSM Steinbach MB
1270 KNWC Sioux Falls SD
1280 WWTC Minneapolis MN
1290 CFRW Winnipeg MB
1350 KRNT Des Moines IA
1430 KZQZ St. Louis MO
1470 CJVB Vancouver BC
1500 KSTP Saint Paul MN
1510 KCKK Littleton CO

I honestly never expected to see this kind of log here on the wrong coast. There were many other exotic stations which fit the correct offsets and conditions and which I couldn't log due to lack of evidence. I seem to have done better with North America this season than to the far east. However, September and October saw the 1548 4QD Emerald carrier reaching audio levels. I could not hear it due to the four European stations which just would never allow it through.

I still put it down to the fact that I have a decent sea path to the more westerly parts of North America, even though there is a bit of local land to travel over first. My path to Alaska only just clips along 10 miles of the nearer coastal areas of Lincolnshire. Then it's all sea to Alaska, apart from the very northern tip of Greenland. No wonder Alaska has been coming in here so well lately.

We are still in November too. This has been another surprise, although we are almost in December, so what could possibly happen then? If I could only get rid of this local noise. My flag is contorted so it removes almost all of the noise, but it is hardly performing as well as it could. Even so, I am very happy with my lot.

It peaked way up here just at the right time. Needless to say this is the loudest signal from Japan I have ever received. I could hear it (NHK) behind my local 774 as well. Plenty of recordngs from today to go through (over the next decade)

Hope this recording will be of use to others as well - they play this after the anthem every day between 1540 and 1543.

That's not just crazy, that's absolutely ridiculous!

Well done Paul. You must surely have other Japanese stations present. Have you checked 1278 and 1413?

1278 is usually Pulse and Iran here, both loud so a struggle. 1413 has GB stuff too. Nothing much else except that huge signal on 747. 1287 and 1440 popped up later.
