Swedish LPAM activities this week

Post by PFM907 » 03 Sep 2018 13:14

Has anyone been lucky so far while picking up one of those?
1593 kHz medium wave - "Asfalttelegrafen" from Borås, 200 watts analogue AM mode

September 3rd (today)
14:00 - 02:00 UTC (!)

September 4th (tomorrow)
12:00 - 03:00 UTC (!)

September 5th (wednesday)
12:00 - 16:00 UTC

September 6th (thursday)
12:00 - 16:00 UTC

September 7th (friday)
13:00 - 03:00 UTC (!)

September 8th (saturday)
13:00 - 03:00 UTC (!)

September 9th (sunday)
12:00 - 18:00 UTC

Not impossible, however, that the broadcast may be slightly longer than advertised in advance.

I have been trying this one during the past few day, because Boraas is a frequent catch on FM here in Nth. Germany!
However, I have not been successful because it was only active until 1600 UTC and until then it is not getting dark yet.
After switch-off, the frequency is swamped-out by several romanian stations. Anyway, gonna try this again these days.
I expect to pick 'em up (mostly playing Classic Rock music from the 70s) during the overnight broadcast tonight or Tue.

Also another one, a famous classic is on the air now:
1179 kHz medium wave - Veteranljuddagen from Hörby, 50 watts analogue AM mode

As usual, Hörby Mellanvåg sends 1179 in connection with the day. The station was already in the ether with its music and call loop. According to the pre-information, the broadcasts does begin one week before the Veteran Day, but they are already running at 1179 kHz and so they will be until a few days after. This will be until the end of this week (10/09/2018).

This former Sallerup frequency was once one of the best AM frequencies in Nth. Germany amongst 1062 DK and 1314 NO.
Unfortunately, even after the switch-off from one of the Romanian big guns at night, there is still another one remaining.
Plus, I have at least two different Cadena SER signals which give a slight echo and local advertisement on this co-channel.

Asfalttelegrafen 1593 kHz

It was quite a challange due to heavy co-channel interference, but at least, it worked out pretty fine to me at the end:

This night, there will be extended broadcast until the early morning hours again and I am gonna try my luck once more.
