Just Spain x 2 here on 1080.

There was a Spanish Language station station on and off on 1420 with a possible one word ID between music tracks at 0419'10. Initially I thought it was Vida, but not sure now. Much too indistinct.

1380 was strong again at 0100 this morning. Anyone else getting it? Here's how it was sounding in southern Occitania:

At 0100 both 1440 and 1470 were carrying the networked O Voz do Brazil programme.

Radio Cordilliera ID on 1190 kHz at 04:58:10 at 0500. Plenty of LA DX about today.

Stuart, some weak Latins making it through here in South Wales, but none of the stations that you have mentioned except Cordillera and that was at 02:15

I managed to squeeze a few extra dBs out of my flag yesterday after playing around with different coils.

At 2000 yesterday evening, 1098 CNR11 from Golmud was a BIG signal, totally dominating.

Thanks for the tip Stuart - I caught a nice ID from 1190 Radio Cordillera at 0308 here, followed by some lively music. I wouldn't have spotted the brief peaks of this very weak signal had it not been for Jaguar's Extended Scan mode which highlighted those blink and miss them peaks.

I was also looking for your Brazilian on 1380 and caught some vague audio around 2300. Nothing decisive, just a YL talking v v weak.

1500 Radio Santa Rosa, Lima, was also present on 1500 around 0400.

Nice one JF. You probably saw on Real DX but my 1440 "Argentinian" was HIAK 1440 AM Radio Impactante Santo Domingo Dom Rep.

This morning was nothing like as good though Cordillera id'd at 0300 - just peaking up at the right time. Yesterday and the day before will be worthy of further study I feel. Plenty of Latins though as always the major problem here are the Spanish state stations who are very loud and splashy.

For the first time I have not run out my 300m BOG - it's just too hot to check it every day - and I do need to check it due to wind, critters, sheep etc. Instead I have a large 8x4m Flag in the garden which seems to be working well. I had some issues with the home-brewed binocular toroid balun so I've been using a balun for beverages/BOGs. Seems to work quite well though.

Tip for the Brazilian 1380 is to check // web stream. The stream is only a few seconds behind the live audio.

Cheers

Stuart

Funnily enough, that's what I settled with for my flag. The previous one was lacking a little. Mind you, I wound that one myself! I will experiment further with the original design of transformer, as soon as I can find the old blue toroid.

Nice to hear bits of audio on 1480 and 1490 again, but I'm not hearing anything on 1590 David. All too weak.

The X band is quiet too, apart form the odd bit of pirate activity.

I think the best way to describe this morning is a four letter word beginning with S. Being a gentle, polite person, I won't go down that route.

I heard a back of the box Brazilian on 1380 around 2200. I was surprised to hear English on 1480 around midnight. Other than that, yes, the band was total shit!

The Brazilian has mostly male speech and occasional music. There was some piano music and OM speech at 23:37:50. It sounds like an announcement of some kind.

I used the Sony X-Noise plugin for noise reduction on the first half of this recording, then the natural recording for the last half. The brief break in the recording is the next file starting.

Something very weak on 920.0013 might be Paraguay. Their new 100 kW transmitter is supposed to be getting out very well and has been logged on 920.001. It was incredibly weak but audible between 01:00 and 04:30.

Absolute rubbish here. There was a brief rise in the level of carriers at about 0507, but only the weakest of audio coming through.

I didn't record overnight as thunder and lightning forecast.

John - You have a Radio Continental ID on your clip. Not sure of the connection between Radio Novas de Paz and Radio Continental. Perhaps the former is carried by the latter?

Cheers

Thanks Stuart.

I will post to RealDX and see if they know more.

// Also, I just noticed that the Radio Continental ID is mentioned in the notes at the side of Radio Novas De Paz in the MW List.
