DX Totals

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 25 Feb 2018 19:22

It used to be a thing of mine back in the 80s to keep records of how many stations I had heard from each country, though I was only ever interested in transatlantic DX back then. I see some DXers still keep such records.

I was curious about how many North American stations I have received since moving to Skegness, the wrong coast for such DX. I thought I should look at Asiatic DX too as this is the right coast for that. Lots more Indians in there than I had realised. Japanese DX has also been more abundant than expected.

I mentioned elsewhere that I I'd had four Panamanians, but there are three. I remember the fourth one was one of those which got away.

Without listing the stations themselves, here are the totals, based on loggings.

It is a very impressive list
Receivers:
General: Grundig satellit 650, Lowe HF-225, Tecsun PL660
FM; Degen De1103
DAB: Akai ADB10(2x), Nikkei ADB10, Technisat.
All with telescope antenna. I use a home-built(not by myself, :D ) Loopantenna on the satellit for mediumwave

I am pleased with my Oriental catches. That's for sure. The level of Japanese reception has surprised me. So too has the North American reception I suppose. My old Nottinghamshire QTH would have put North American totals around 400+

I'd love to see other totals from people.
