1143 kHz

Post by PFM907 » 18 Feb 2018 14:50

This is Taiwan Fishermen’s Station, isn’t it?
The ID sounds different from that one audible on intervalsignals.net, though.
However, I could not imagine who else this could have been.
Would be nice if someone confirmed.

Sufficient clues in that one to give an effective ID. Taiwanese dialect spoken. The plinky plonk music at 44 seconds is in generic Chinese New Year style. And on the SDR receiver in southern China it is heard on both 1143 and 738, both fisheries station frequencies. Another clue: in the pause between music the mains hum coming out of audio compression is typical of the station.

Edit: and at 54 seconds the jingle sings (to my ears) "AM Ji San Ba" - AM 738

thanks to your contribution, heard the same by another respected DXer on youtube. and guess what, this was received yesterday here again, this time with nice Taiwanese time signal beep :)

so I guess sending them a QSL report is a good idea. to me, there was a little doubt regarding the (extraordinary strong) signal and the ID which indeed differs from those ones heard on intervalsignals.net
