Thanks Simon.

My flag has been broken for two days and I only just realised.

Sorry to here that John. Quite good to the Michagan area - Another new one for me, 1500 WLQV at 0700. Mixing horribly with WFED, but finally found the ID.

Damn!

Can't check the flag at the moment. It looks OK, but too much noise to do any nulling tests. Need to spend some time on this and I can't be bothered.

Had a good *look* at the flag. All looks well! Clearly it isn't. Barely any signal at the bottom of the band, severe noise from 770 and throughout the entire short waves!

Really not impressed.

Hope you get it sorted soon John.

Last night had made some personal firsts from USA & Canada. Going to record the band again tonight.

Right now, Nigeria with strong reception on 1440 kHz

Sorted! :) I braved the torrential snowfall (there are a few flakes) and found the base wire had snapped off right at the connection box terminal. Good job I tugged on the wire as it all appeared to be connected! The velcro fastener was holding it in place. It didn't fool me though ;)

Back in action!

Thanks for this Simon. No ID from that and a nice fade at 0200, but I see the offset as you say. It drifts a little.

WWKB was dominant for most of the morning at 1519.9977, plus a Spanish station appeared from time to time at 1520.0011. A couple of other carriers were just about reaching audio level too. Quite a morning in fact! Not much in the way of IDs so far.

1420 ABC News jingle at 0200. Two stations present in the splatter.

I actually have a WJR ID on 760 at 0200!

The band woke up! Good North American conditions around 0500+ until beyond 0800 this morning. Probably only east coast conditions after the blow-out, but some nice signals. (My noise only appeared between 0805-0825) North American stations were available even on difficult channels!

1290 WKBK Keene NH ID at 0600.

1290 0700. Two (three?) stations. No doubt one is YVLF. The other is a serious English talker. Maybe an NPR style broadcaster. Fades on the hour, naturally, but an ID of "This is YCR" or similar (My NPR?) at 07:01:39. Offset is 1289.9959 with a slight wobble. That's close to WNRI's offset, an NPR network station, though they are listed with Spanish NPR. Do they have English programming overnight? Somebody is playing Giorgio Moroder's "The Chase" at 0606 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrPWkIRWY9U). I have heard this before as a programme intro, as it seems to be here, but I can't hear the announcer clearly at this time. Presumed YVLF is at 1289.9981.

1420 has WBSM New Bedford MA with an ID just after 0600. ABC News. Just noticed that this is a personal first.

1430 has a W call mixing with WENE's "Fox Sports Trending" ID at 0700. Sounds like WPNR. I though this might have been a distortion of WENE, but I am sure there are two stations here. https://app.box.com/s/ysxm6ofnn2yxc0vb5kltzrepjkwjt40y

1440 THREE North Americans. WVEI and WRED ID. The third station got buried at 0700.

1200 WXKS Newton MA 0700.

Lots of stuff down to 1200 than the band is noised out below this.

John, I got your 1290 station at 07:01:39. After the "this is..." (and I keep thinking he is saying "the voice of", but can't be sure) , There is a callsign with a clear W, but then indistinct. the second letter sounds like U to me, but can't be.
A frustrating morning - Every frequency was either a regular or semi-regular at almost local strength or an total mess of weak signals mixing together.

Thanks for trying Simon. Appreciated. Hopefully some more good signals tomorrow. The band is already looking quite respectable.

Good DX!

Not much of an ID, but I have a "Radio" at exactly the top of the hour on 1350 at 0500. The station does peak up after this, but there is nothing to go on. I see Panama has been logged in Europe on 1350 at 0500 this morning, so maybe a tip for somebody else.

What I have, I haven't a clue! This really IS clutching at straws! :)

Good spot Stuart. I didn't hear the WJJb until you pointed it out.

John - I assume this is the same station. No clearer, though, I'm afraid.

It could be the same station. Difficult to tell. I think the "Radio" bit is right at the end of your recording, if that's what it is. Too weak for comfort anyway. Thanks for checking.
