Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 20 Sep 2017 13:00

580 Slow music 0020. No time signal so not WKAQ.
610 Spanish OM 0224.
680 Two Spanish stations 0300.
1270 Probably LS11 at 1269.9997
1350 Spanish religious station, peaking 04:30:45 with announcement.
1400 UNID Spanish ID: https://youtu.be/TtCT-1F-D6c
1480 OM Spanish most of the night.
1490 TWO Spanish! Offset of one matches HJAY. Plenty of speech to listen to.
1570 Nice "Bethel" ID on 1570 at 03:48:01
1580 Spanish rhythms 0311, but two stations present.

Another slight improvement this morning. Some of the regular TAs were peaking at fair levels.

Curious about my unidentified Spanish on 1480. 1490 is also becoming an interesting channel.

A bit of a comparison that may be of interest

580 Slow music 0020. No time signal so not WKAQ. something here as well at that time not clear enough to ID, but WKAQ booming in from about 05:35
610 Spanish OM 0224. Some carriers, but only audio ss just after 0530
680 Two Spanish stations 0300. WAPA very strong at times mixing with another station from 0255 - Good ID 0604 - Still going strong 0630
700 - mx around 0345-0350 on 700.002 - weak ss tk on same offset 0540 then at 0553 lively mx on 699.992
730 - 0546 - something Latin mixing with CKAC dead on 730
750 - After YVKS had gone and not CBC, just a touch below dead on 750 at 0545 tk then mx
1190 - Radio Cordillera - 0457 very strong good jingle and IDs
1270 Probably LS11 at 1269.9997 ID and late ts at 30 seconds after 0100 - never had an ID for this before.
1280 0459 Super RadioTupi mixing with pres Bermuda
1290 Radio Puerto Cabello - Good ID 0555
1350 Spanish religious station, peaking 04:30:45 with announcement. Heard a few Radio Buenos Aires IDs inc one at 0504:53
1400 UNID Spanish ID: https://youtu.be/TtCT-1F-D6c I've got the carrier, but Harbour Light too strong - Can't make out anything from yours
1480 OM Spanish most of the night. Somthing there, but don't know what
1490 TWO Spanish! Offset of one matches HJAY. Plenty of speech to listen to. Same here - Might have to have another listen
1570 Nice "Bethel" ID on 1570 at 03:48:01 Not here !
1580 Spanish rhythms 0311, but two stations present. very weak mx

All in all interesting, but very frustrating !

Good to see your comparison - thanks for this.

It made me check 1280 again. I realised that Super Radio Tupi and WCMN Noti Uno are on very similar offsets. So much so that it looked like one station, but after checking I heard TWO stations on the one apparent offset. Two nice "Super" IDs were heard at 0343 wrapped around a station promo. That's a personal first for me at this QTH. FYI, "Radio Tupi", as it used to be known, was a regular at my Nottinghamshire QTH back in the 80s. Great to hear this one again.
