No idea. Looking back at my recordings, it was there at 06:58 on 3rd October. My next recording was 20:58 on 3rd and it was gone and nothing since (apart from Cluj now in the clear !)

According to an (unfortunately undated) post on their website, their facilites were damaged by bad weather. Here's a Google translation:
At 11:57, 5 Britain is back on medium wave. Since yesterday evening the 1593 kHz frequency was mute because of bad weather that hit the area and caused some damage to the broadcast facilities of Britain 5, particularly on energy backup systems.

This failure, combined with a failure in the electrical distribution network, caused the decision of this issuer. Now everything is back to normal and Brittany 5 programs are resumed.

Thank you to the technicians of the radio and ERDF intervention personnel who worked in sometimes difficult conditions. And thank you to all listeners Britain 5 have supported and encouraged us!

Dipping in and out of their webstream recently I haven't heard any feature programmes as scheduled, no news at the top of the hour and no shipping forecasts. Just continuous music plus automated IDs which still mention their MW frequency.

It has been reported that they are off air due to lightning damage

BACK ON the AIR this morning, I discovered tuning about just before 8AM (Friday 30th Dec)
I have heard nothing from them since they went off as reported in this thread (unless it has been on with just very low power?)

Maybe the imminent closure of F.Inter 162kHz prompted them to make a return ? as they broadcast forecasts for mariners as mentioned here http://www.radioworld.com/business-and- ... ond/338053

Appears to be gone again from 1593kHz ???

I noticed it apparently absent last night and again checked a few minutes ago, not audible

PS
some discussion (in French) here about the recent disappearance of 1593 :
