A Michigan Morning

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 12 Feb 2016 20:45

0700 was the peak. I noticed WAAM Ann Arbor on 1600 , which makes a very pleasant change to the usual WUNR. I don't think I've heard WAAM since the 80s. WXYT Detroit was also clear at 0700.

Moving to 1440, I'm sure I heard a very rushed mention of WMAX. Rexording in the UNID secion here: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=2191 This was mixing with WHKZ and WRED. A mention Fox Sports Radio also appeared in the pile-up before the top of the hour, which is probably WVEI. 1440 is turning into quite a channel since Luxembourg vacated the frequency.

Other bits:
1380 had THREE. A US talker and there were two country stations, one of which was clearly CKPC in // with their web stream.

A sports station dominated 1150 around 0300 with some good signals. I would have heard a lot more had it not been for the strong splatter from UK locals on 1152.

1420 is turning into an interesting frequency since Germany left 1422. I heard two North Americans on there this morning, one with sports.

As has often been the case lately, only frequencies above 1000 had the TA DX. Only CBGY 750 made it above carrier level below this.

Hopefully somebody else recorded overnight. It wasn't a bad one!
