I just tried the 9.2, pre-amp and all, in the XDR. BBC Radio 2 appears strongly on 67.4 & 68.3. BBC Radio 3 on 69.5 & 70.49, plus BBC Radio 4 on 71.69 & 72.71. 67.4 wipes out several channels either side.

I didn't check that. I won't bother looking for Japan. ;)

I am only interested in the OIRT range, if anything. In fact I don't see any way I can easily mount an additional single dipole anywhere without it being obvious. I need to keep this as simple as possible.

I won't be able to do any serious TV DXing. It's just the OIRT range I am interested in.

I wonder if we'll see some new private TV stations opening with the band becoming emptier.

Thanks Tim.

This morning I had very weak pictures on R1 but no chance of ID's there is QRM on R1 since Tuesday worse than Monday so I can only assume some form of PMR communications.
The TV I am using is unmodified so being wideband could be taking 50 Mhz ham band.

baby alarms (biggest threat), 49 mhz hospital pagers, 52mhz STLs like my local 52.75

6m won't cause you too many problems unless you have a local ham

something must be wrong with Glubokoye, to have perfect sound and not even see frame bars is very odd

My vision band is full of crap including S9+ baby alarm carriers et al so I rarely manage to resolve video though I had a strong R1 signal this morning in Spectrum Lab on 49.757.840-ish (have not calibrated AR5000 this year, yet).

Yes and back in the old days it was cordless phones as well there was a TV shop in Newton Le Willows 8 miles form here and they had there phone to an external aerial and it kept wiping R1 out.

I listened to their conversation and they were talking to an advertising Co and gave their phone number so after they hung up I rang them and said did they realise they using illegal equipment and there's stiff penalty for doing so.
Anyway they stopped using it and my R1 was clear until a farmer was doing the same so they got the same treatment and that stopped.

This practice was a cheap way of communicating with their vans in the area the things we have to do to DX

I've told this story before but 3/4 years ago the house over the back fence had a baby alarm which was S9+60, as I beam SE directly at it. After asking them to switch it off three times I finally gave them the URL where I was streaming it on the internet - that one went off and never came back.

Derek Taylor the MW dxer used to do a trick like that to clear the cordless phones off 1.64-1.7 mhz

I notice today that the QRM on R1 is reduced pointing to PMR activity probably from those piles of metal up on the hill 1 km from here.

It might be up to date for Europe, but for most of the rest of the World it is way out of date. Let us hope entries for Russia and Ukraine are correct.:)
