D100 Tuner

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 01 Mar 2017 20:36

I'm having a clearout in the shack and came across a D100 tuner. The question is (and I think I know the answer to this), is it worth hanging on to?

Aren't they stopping soon though? I heard another year or two, if I remember correctly.

Yes 2018 is the year for Russian ASO according to the link below which will be a shame.

The end of an era.

I guess all D100s will be scrapped.

I ditched my 2 original D100s in the mid 2000s and regretted it John. Last year I ended up persuading Gary Smith to part with one of his 80s models just so I could have a final B1 TV-DX fling. It was well worth it particularly watching Jordan blasting in for 3 hours solid last August. I'll probably hang onto mine as a sentimental keep sake but yes their days are numbered.

Thanks Chris. I guess my band 1 TV DX days are gone. I suspect there won't be any point in hanging on this mine any longer. I can't think of any use for mine anymore. My interests in OIRT are less and less these days too so I can't imagine me DXing the few remaining Russian transmitters so I am happy to say goodbye to this if anybody wants to make me an offer.
