Practical Television (includes TVDX reports)

Post by pe1etr » 01 Jul 2015 07:03

I've mentioned this on the SkywavesDX Yahoo Group.

I came across a link to a website which has PDF versions of books related to radio available for free download. There are historic technical books and defunct publications such as "Passport To World Band" Radio"

Index page is here: http://www.americanradiohistory.com/index.htm

I didn't mention that there are British publications as well as American ones. There is Practical Television (50s/60s), and one edition of Television (1971)
This publication had TV DX column. An example is on p557 ( -->p561) of this one:

Warning: This was written in 1968 so it is not Politically Correct!

I used to purchase Practical Television from 1975 to 2006 blimey that's 372 magazines which I recently put on the tip.
I did try to give them away free along with many other people doing the same but no takers so as I needed the space unfortunately so they had to go.

Roger Bunny took over from Charles Rafarel anyway apart from DX-TV the servicing articles were also of interest to me.
