Moldavian tv to complete transition from analogic to digital in early 2020

Post by Franco Martelli »

According to some information I've found in the Internet, summer 2019 would be the last occasion to receive Moldavian analogic tv through Es openings.
The transition to digital tv will be completed by March 1st, 2020.

In romanian language, but easily translatable through on line tools:

Sorry, I didn't have this warning.

But anyway the other article linked is clear enough in explaining what it will happen in that country.

Hello, according to some information I've found in the Internet, it seems that the switch off of analogic tv in Moldovia has been postponed until the end of year 2020.

I've also found a very recent video in YT showing the bandscan of both digital and analogic tv in a location in Central Moldovia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RorLymcIXIc

(analogic tv starts at 7:30)

Just wondering if anyone knows what the current status is...are they still on and if so are they still scheduled to go off at the end of the year?

Hello Chris, unfortunately I didn't keep myself informed on the matter.
The only thing I know is that the online tender organised by Moldovian Ministry of Communication to buy 30.000 digital decoders for the poorest families of Moldova didn't have any winner, but I ignore the reason why.
Does that imply that the switch off will be delayed another time? I don't know.

Hi Franco, Thanks for getting back to me on this. Fingers crossed it has been delayed and maybe they will still be on for the 2021 sp-e season. There is very little else left on B1 analogue to receive here now.
