Airspy R2/Körner 19.3 Yagi. Remote Access

Post by MikeF » 21 Nov 2017 21:53

Hi,
If anyone is interested and you have SDR Sharp you can now access my Airspy R2 remotely via SpyServer. My server address is sdr://saltdean.ddns.net:5555. The R2 is connected to my Körner 19.3-40 Yagi (unfortunately you can't control the rotator).

I hope some of you will try it out and I'd appreciate your feedback.

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike.

I did a band scan via server and I am jealous :) Excellent setup. Everything working fine. Are you planning to keep it running all the time or it's just a test?

Thanks Zach.
I'll leave the server running probably until the next Es season. Then I may need to use the Airspy myself.

Hi Mike,

Just gave it a try and found it great !
On 100.1, fun to see BBC R2 and France Bleu Normandie fighting.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Patrick & Zach.

Patrick - 100.1 was probably Classic FM from Sutton Coldfield. BBC R2 is lower in the band, around 88-91 MHz.
The domination by French stations here is normal. I get many more stations from France than I do from the UK. Immediately to the north of me are the South Downs, which shield many UK TX's here.
Thanks for trying the server and you're welcome to continue using it whilst it's available.
Regards,
Mike

Well, I reported BBC R2 because I heard "BBC Radio 2" (I mean I did not check any database before or after).
Pretty weird ... Probably what you call "a senior moment" !
Sorry for the wrong info.
