Downloading FMList Lists

Post by daveB » 13 Apr 2018 18:09

Back in 2015 I posted how you could get raw data out of FMList using CSVUserListBrowser. This enabled me to have a huge spreadsheet that contained all the transmitters in all the countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

From that I could filter on PI Code or RDS PS name and even use wild cards - which was helpful for tracking down stations.

I last updated the list in 2016 - but now I come to repeat the operation I find that CSVUserListBrowser, under the Downloader/convertor options Doesn't have one for FMList/AMList, but for FMScan, and when I try to download - it comes up with the message 'this does not seem to be a valid CSV userlist! and the file produced has nothing in it.

The Downloads option in FMList itself, for RDSDX or pdf, runs - but doesn't generate a download.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Hi Dave,

I recently downloaded FMList datas (Sporadic, Tropo and Meteor lists) for CSVUserList and it worked like a charm.

Thanks Patrick,

It turns out I had two problems with CSVUserList 1) it was v 3.95 and 2) when I clicked on the update button it told me I had the up to date version. Via the other forum I learned the current version is 4.14 so I updated.

It downloads from FMList, but since I last did that the parameters have changed - and I can't work out if there is a setting I can change. In particular the SpE download only covers 1100-2249 km. I've had shed loads less than 1100 km - down to the low 700s, and a wheelbarrow full of single hop in the range of 2250-2400km. My previous download two years ago included 650-2700km.

Does your download have the same limited range? The lower isn't a problem as I combine the Tropo below 1100 km with the SpE page. I'm puzzled as to when/why the change has taken place - as the standard range for SpE in FMList is 700-2700 km.

I just downloaded the latest FMList files and the SpE range is indeed 1099-2254 ... (the previous one from Feb, 3rd was the same)
The "Tropo" files range is 1-1554 km and 26-1847 for the "Meteor" one.

No idea on how to restore the previous 700-2700 range. In case you're able to fix this, please let me know ;-)

I'm running v4.13 (no message to update to 4.14). Where is the update button BTW ? I suppose it does not cancel the user lists previously downloaded nor the parameters one set ?
