"Those two vertical lines are a legal RDS character at character table
position 0x60. The corresponding ASCII character would be "`" (backquote
to computer geeks, grave accent to linguists). RDS receivers *must* show
the vertical lines or nothing at all.

Yes Julian Love NRG Radio moved from 100.7 to 100.8 a few days ago maybe it's a quieter frequency there.

I was in Brum / Wolves area a few weeks back. 89.8 and 90.0 both had pirates on, 90.0 was just dull pop you could hear on Capital or Heart with no jingles or anything.

Regarding Sound FM I am receiving it on 87.5 booming signal and it's also coming in on 87.8 full RDS as well and reducing the signal to very noisy on 87.8 full RDS still.
signal level is the same as last time and 87.8 was not received then only this last stint.

Yes of course! My aerials are still lowered following Storms Doris and Ewan, but 87.5 is very strong with scrolling text, probably roughly W or WSW from here. No sign of 87.8, just a weak Clermont today

BCMR noted on 89.7 this afternoon playing 70s/80s chart/pop stuff, vert polarised I assume as best on my V dipole. RDS BCMR PI F850.

Hot 92 92.0 playing reggae PI F875.

Kriss Radio 95.1 - ads for Birmingham businesses so assume Brum based... no RDS.
Pioneer F-504RDS, Denon TU-1500RD, Kenwood KT-3080, Rotel RT-955, Icom IC-R7100, Tescun PL390 (OIRT & mobile)
Triax FM5, K6STI 5 el (HS Pubs), FM dipole vert, 48- 82MHz dipole horz
D100 TV-DX conv, Realistic 5" B+W TV, JVC CX-610,
RDS Spy

Yes, my appologise to one and all about not mentioning my QTH. It is Crewe. I'm affraid I can't hear Central Radio on 100.8mhz. Infact I wasn't aware of its existence but again it maybe because I have only heard The Voice Of Peace during bank holidays on that frequency and i am further south from Wigan.
