sorry for the late response
try this http://websemantics.co.uk/online_tools/ ... sion_tool/

also the e skip seems to have been stuck over Belarus recently so put 91.75(TV audio)/93.25(Vision buzz)/99.75 (TV audio) in your tuner memories and keep an eye on them :-)

this may be the last year of Belarusian Analogue TV

theres nothing in the 87.5-88 range in Belarus so your RSL won't be a problem

good luck

how much of the aerial has snapped off your tecsun? half? more? if you have half you might still get some OIRT reception
66.05 R Rossi, Pskov & 67.76 R Hrodna were solid for hours last night

mines snapped too but left me with a useable length

don't forget to make your bandscan public so i can see where your free channels are and offer suggestions

I have a Philips CRT TV set in my shack, about 15 years old, analogue only. Should that have any difficulty catching the 93.25 MHz Belarusian channel if I hook it up to my Triax FM3? The EEPROM on my Sony ST-SB920 gets wiped almost every time I turn it on, so I can't save any presets, although the EEPROM on my Onkyo T-4970 has no problems. The XDR-S10HDiP appears to have RAM and all the memories would get wiped, and what's worse is (1) I don't have the remote so I can't save any memories and (2) the S10 tunes in 100 kHz steps and does not have the ability to tune to the xx.x5/1xx.x5 frequencies.

I'm getting a replacement antenna from eBay soon. The antenna can be repaired with Sellotape, but I have to be very careful, which was why I got so much in Winterton thanks to the dismal conditions. I also heard so much in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, at Kenwick Top, West Keal and Huttoft Car Terrace. I did something which broke the antenna again recently, but I'd need it repaired again to do some OIRT DX.

A predominantly-Belarussian Es event would probably cover some areas of neighbouring countries too. When Konrad Kosmatka in Poland receives an Es predominantly from the UK and Ireland, he would also hear some Dutch, French and Belgian stations. The RSL definitely would be a problem - a Belarusian Es would probably bring in Sport FM from Smolensk, which is in Russia but near the Belarusian border, and on 87.7. Why do these RSLs usually transmit during the SpE season?

I aint gonna bother any more, you clearly know it all

Sport FM smolensk has NEVER been received in the UK! http://www.fmlist.org/fm_fminfo_show.php?lfdnr=6745549
yes thanks for explaining to me where Smolensk is, my bloody day job is a historian of the Kresy!

when John posts posts about hilltopping spots he's visited you tell everyone how bad they'll be and how much overload there is even though you've never been there!!

unless your band is nearly empty you won't be able to see R5 on your TV, and thats if your TV even tunes that freq

A new one for me was Radio FFN from Steinkimmen on 102.3, right next to Heart 102.4, on the S10. I also heard WDR 3 from Teutoburger Wald on 97.0, both via scatter this morning.

Well, none of us are perfect Alex, but we have one fantastic hobby in common. I only have two faults - everything I do and everything I say, or so my ex wife used to tell me  . Seriously, I have a few.

Great to see you got Steinkimmen right next door to Stoke Holy Cross.

I have now learnt that most hilltopping spots that John visits are very good. Sorry to echo (as John has said this before, and you probably know from what he's said), but Kenwick Top (the exact one I said about the overload from Belmont), has a nice reduction of Belmont down the hill. I do listen to John, he's my hero and if it wasn't for him I don't think I would know the best DX spots in Lincolnshire. It was also thanks to Chris that I now love Huttoft Car Terrace. I also find some spots myself - in the case of Ness Point and Felixstowe Ferry, both on the Suffolk coast. I have yet to try Sizewell, where John used to do lots of DXing before I joined here.

Sorry Tim. I know how you felt back then, I didn't know back then that you were a historian of the Kresy. Thank you for that, I will not say where Kresy towns and cities are in future. None of us are perfect as we all get things wrong. I was just trying to help, in case someone on here didn't know where Smolensk was, and I explained that Sport FM Smolensk may come in on a Belarussian E-skip. Thank you anyway for explaining that 87.5-88.0 is unused in Belarus, but I just had the idea Sport FM would come in! I'm a bit surprised that Sport FM has never been received in the UK!
No worries now, even if the conditions would suit Sport FM, my RSL is long-gone now, doubting it would come in as no-one over here in Britain has received it.

Alex, 87.5-88 is not empty in Belarus. I received Narodnoe Radio on 87.5 from Hrodna on the morning of 22nd June. If you look in FMLIST you will see that there are a few stations in that frequency range.
Good DX.

You can not assert 100% that something has not been received in the UK if it's not been reported in FMLIST. This seems to be the Band II dxers version of the MF dxer's "UK ATNO" if something is heard which has not been reported in MWC. All you can assert is that it has not been reported in an FMLIST log.

I agree with you! Just because it hasn't been logged on FM List, a not-very-well-known DXer may have got Sport FM and kept the result to him/herself.

30/06/2015 - Tropospheric Propagation Log:

105.2 G - Wave 105 - Chillerton Down (EN-IOW) - 253km - C3AD Wave_105 - Only on ribbon antenna without preamp, the FM3 got an enhanced Lille with full RDS!
105.6 SUI - Radio SRF 3 - Säntis (ar) - 833km - Taylor Swift song 'Bad Blood' (no rap edit), 'SRF Drei' vocal ID and other pop song. My first Swiss catch on FM! This frequency is normally occupied by Kiss FM from Cambridge/Madingley. *
107.8 SUI - RSI Rete Uno - Säntis (ar) - 833km - Presumed. Italian talk. Heard at same time as Radio SRF 3. This frequency is normally occupied by Future Radio from Norwich/Markham Tower. *
104.7 D - WDR Eins Live - Nordhelle (nrw) - 490km - I don't remember if there was an ID or not. This was received on the Sony ST-SB920, so I had the aerial in a position where reception of BBC Radio Suffolk was poor. However, WDR 3 from Nordhelle can be received under flat conditions on 98.1 with the XDR-S10HDiP. *
98.1 D - WDR 3 - Nordhelle (nrw) - 490km - This can be received under flat conditions with the XDR-S10HDiP, but this was enhanced to stronger, more stable reception by the strongish tropo opening. *
