Wigan DAB bandscan 01/09/16

Post by Andrew Webster,Wigan » 02 Sep 2016 13:15

I have done a DAB bandscan showing the station parameters as the Manchester Trial mux is filling up with DAB+.

I accidentally came across the Bradford & Huddersfiled mux 11B the other week while doing a scan for DX but aerial positioning is very critical as beaming East there's a null on the Shropshire mux also 11 B so allowing this mux through.
After doing the the bandscan beaming East I had to retune 11 B for the Shropshire mux.

I'm surprised to see we now have DAB+ channels on not only Trial Manchester but also NE Wales/W Chesh and SDL National

What kit were you using there, Andy?

Hi Julian I use a Noxon DAB stick but my RTL I now use for band 1 stick works just as well on DAB so any cheap sticks will do and the application is DABplayer A very good piece of kit.

Also on that page as well as the DABplayer is the drivers for different sticks very easy to install.

Crhis Country was on Wales and Cheshire mux in DAB+ earlier this year but was only on for a few months.

Hello Andy,

The Noxon DAB stick is just an ordinary RTL 2832U device, it is nothing special. I've had one since 2012.

Love 80s on NE Wales/ W Cheshire is DAB+

Peter

I forgot to reply to this yes Love 80's replaced Chris Country so yes one DAB + on there that mux running at 62 % so room for more if they want.
