Two recordings of unidentified Chinese stations on 1278.

The date and time is recorded in each file.

Every now and again I hear six pips on 1278 which are the same as the Chinese time signals but slower. I've been trying to find out who this station is via RealDX but nobody seems to know.

Then yesterday evening I received a different Chinese time signal with what sounds like the standard Beijing zhi shen time check and possibly with a local ID to follow.

Thanks for any help with these.

Thanks PFM. Back after a weekend away again so apologies for the late reply.

You say it has to be CNR11. I get CNR11 every evening on 1098 and the time pips are not the same. 1098 has the commonly heard Chinese pips and not the slower ones you hear in my 1278 recording.

Last week's good conditions have now brought in the standard Chinese pips, so there could be two stations here. Perhaps the standard (quicker) pips are CNR11 - I will need to see if I can find a // with 1098. I guess the slower pips must be Hebei RGD, but without a definite ID.

Going by the Chinese stations reported in Scandinavia, Hebei RGD seems to be the most regularly received by far, but from a number of different sites. Then CNR11 from either Lhasa or Nedong. There are also loggings of Nanchang RGD and Daxing'anling RGD.

I guess each transmitter of each regional service has local IDs in order to know the transmitter. I wonder how the IDs differ?
