12Oct2019_1350kHz unidentified

Post by daveB »

Received from around 05:56 to 06:04 UTC. The recording covers the period 05:59:30 to 06:03. The first 30 seconds are a bit rubbish, but then there is a weird two tone time signal followed by a fairly clear male giving a station announcement in a language I don't recognise. This is followed by a female voice lasting around a minute and then some "south american" music.

The language doesn't sound Spanish to me - I'm hoping the 'time signal' will be recognisable to someone, if not the language.

Hello Dave,
This is probably MR4 HNG Győr.
According to MWlist quick and easy it starts at 0700 UTC with Croatian. Are you sure the time is correct?

This is Hungarian!
from 0:43:

"Good morning, you are listening the Nationalities program on 873 and 1188 khz medium wave until 20:00. On satellite and online during daytime with the actual programs, during the night with the repetition of the past day's shows. Now starting our Croatian language program! Today is 12.10.2019 Saturday..." and after this "Dobre Utro..." Good morning in Croatian.

And the music is tipycal Croatian / EX YU folk music with the "Tambura" instrument!

Now it is not "MR4", it was the provious name. After the new government in 2010, the channels of the state radio has left the "MR..." prefix.

MR1 = Kossuth Rádió
MR2 = Petőfi Rádió
MR3 = Bartók Rádió
MR4 = Nationalities programs
MR5 = Parlieament (online and on satellite)
MR6 = Dankó Rádió (before 2010 MR6 was the name of the regional programs, but they are ceased due financial reasons)

Nationatilies program station is on air from 06:00-1800 UTC during summer, and 0700-1900 UTC druing Winter.
The first program is always the Croatian.

Thank you for the translation AMDXHUN. A little later they played another piece of music which was very obviously from the Balkans area.
